Why do you think Ivan chose his father's method of coping to deal with his grief?

The episode title (Tina) is never explained, but many people have guessed it's Nico's deadname, since there's no Tina in the rest of the show and just picking a random name would've been an odd writing choice. What do you think, and how would you feel about that if it was true?
