How I approach a complex commission like this. Sometimes I'm involved in planning the intro itself, but in this case Xaldin had a specific outline for what was going to happen.

1. Get a solid description of what the buyer wants. Ask questions to clear up any uncertainties.
2. Calculate a price
3. Send contract, get a signature, collect payment
4. Thumbnails (optional, done here to make sure the right characters are in use)
5. Storyboard
6. Backgrounds
7. Final Animation
8. VFX in After Effects (the magic portal)
