A Star System Generator for sci-fi campaigns. Generate full star systems on your scenes with orbiting planets, moons, asteroid belts, and a journal entry for every celestial body:You can install this module inside Foundry's Addon Modules menu by searching "augur" or "sci-fi".Watch the full showcase here: https://youtu.be/p9nOM1VNggk

One-Click Star System Generation:

Pick a star type, set your planet count, and generate a complete sci-fi system in seconds. The module places the star with a dynamic light source, distributes planets across orbital bands, rolls their properties, adds moons and asteroid belts, and configures the scene automatically.

Planet Scenes and Moon Scenes:

Go beyond the system view. Every generated world can now lead into its own dedicated planet or moon scene, creating a clear sense of scale as you move from star system to world-level exploration.

Site Generator and Site Maps:

Place points of interest directly on planet and moon scenes, generate dedicated journal pages for them, and open linked site maps when you want to zoom in further. This turns the module into a much more practical exploration and campaign-prep tool.

Instant Dungeons Integration:

Site maps can be generated through my other module Instant Dungeons, if you have it installed, letting you go from star system to world to interior location in one connected workflow.

Custom Planet and Moon Images:

Use the included art or replace planets and moons with your own custom images. This was a highly requested addition and makes it much easier to match the exact look of your setting.

Live Orbital Animation:

Planets and moons orbit in real time. Animation runs locally for smooth performance, with periodic syncs from the GM to keep everyone aligned. You can adjust speed, toggle asteroid belt animation, and fine-tune orbital presentation.

Procedural Planet Properties:

Each planet gets rolled stats based on its type and orbital band, including size, gravity, temperature, atmosphere, water coverage, resources, hazard level, and life. Habitable worlds feel distinct from frozen outer-system rocks and hostile extremes.

Journal Integration:

A journal entry is created automatically for the system, with dedicated pages for the star, planets, moons, and sites. Transparent map pins let players click directly into the generated content, and the journal stays in sync as the system evolves.

Star System Editor:

Edit generated systems after the fact instead of treating the first result as final. Swap skyboxes, adjust the star, change planet and moon types, add or remove moons, and keep the journal and linked scenes updated.

Generator Conditioning:

Force a minimum number of habitable worlds or gas giants, or leave it on auto and let the tables decide. Useful when you need a system that fits a specific story or campaign premise.

Visuals and Scope:

Includes multiple skybox themes, five star types with variations, a wide selection of planet types, moons, asteroid belts, linked scenes, and site-level exploration tools. It is completely system-agnostic, whether you are running Starfinder, Stars Without Number, Traveller, Mothership, or your own setting.

Is this only available on foundry vtt?

How do i download this infernal thing

The Augur

Hello, you can install it from within the foundry app itself. Go into the Addon Modules tab (thir one in the main menu when you open foundry) and press on install module. It will open a panel, there in the search box type "augur" and you will see my modules with an "Install" button nest to each. If it says "Not Owned" instead of "install" its likely you patreon account is not linked to your foundry account. You can do that at https://foundryvtt.com/me/edit towards the bottom of the page

Patrick

Just for the next one - It was not having linked Patreon in FoundryVtt. Once linked, its accessible through foundry profile > Subscribed Content

The Augur

Hehehehe thank you!! Already working on the next update, wich will allow you to "zoom in" on a planets orbit in a new scene thats also animated. Hopefully for next week!

Grumpytoes

is there a way to load custom images for individual planets?

The Augur

I will be releasing an update tomorrow that will allow you to add custom images to planets and moons. And many more new features.

Scott Urquhart

how do you install it onto the forge

The Augur

Hello, I just added a screenshot at the bottom of this post showing how to install it from within Foundry. You can do it from the main menu when you first start Foundry. You patreon must be linked to your patreon in Foundry VTT too (https://foundryvtt.com/me/edit). Let me know if you have any issues and thank you for your support!

Hey, so I just installed this in Foundry and have been tinkering. Very impressed so far. Quick question: is it possible to create a geocentric system? I'm running a Spelljammer campaign, and Greyspace (aka Oerth aka Greyhawk) is a geocentric system: Oerth is the center of the system and the sun (Liga) orbits the planet.

The Augur

Hello, and thanks for joining. It's not, but I will add it to the idea list, and I will try to add it in the next update. If there is anything else like this that would be useful for spelljammer please let me know.

Theala Sildorian

Much appreciated; ignore the redundant comment on the Discord and in Reddit. I am very excited by this module!

Really nice module and all, but you might want to add a disclaimer that generating a new solar system while having an existing scene open overrides that scene. Luckily, i keep a daily snapshot task of my foundry instance running so I could restore the lost data. Otherwise a lot of work would have just gone *poof*. Ideally, of course the module would create a new scene to begin with.

The Augur

Apologies, I will add a safety mechanism to prevent that in the upcoming update. I already implemented it in the instant dungeons module and I am adding it to my other modules in their upcoming updates. It will clearly state that its about to overwrite the current scene and ask if you want to create a new scene instead.

I have the same issue. Even though my Patreon account is linked to the Forge services and this patreon is listed under purchases, it still won't allow me to download or install the module.

The Augur

Hello, on the forge it can take a while to register the change. Users have reported from 20 minutes up to 2 hours. Sometimes simply restarting your server also works. It is not something I have control over I am afraid.

Chaos & Magic: Adventures

Hi, I have a question, I am subscribed in my other account, but how do I add a specific system to a sector? I created the system before the sector so I don't know how to link that system to said sector.

Mikołaj Hinca

Welcome. I have a questiomn. How can i add foundry modules if i have augur one time payment? (2-pack directly)

Kyle Christy

This is such a great module and I appreciate all that you have put into this! I am running a Traveller Campaign based off of the Starsector universe and this is almost exactly what I needed for the world system. A few suggestions: - Different star sizes would be nice! White Dwarves vs Supergiants, etc - Black holes or Nebulae systems (i.e. starless systems) - Planetary Rings as an option would be great! - The ability to change, remove or place asteroid belts after system creation As far as sectors navigation goes, the only thing I would love to see would be a way to set icons per system.

The Augur

Starsector... a man of taste and refinement, I see! That is an amazing game with a very interesting setting that pretty much begs to be explored. I am actually adding Traveller support for the worlds created as actors with that system, as well as trading using the goods generated when you speculate on the planet. If you have some traveller specific ideas/suggestions/requests, I'd love to hear them. I'll keep your suggestions in mind for the next updates; some of them have been requested quite a few times by other users.
