Awesome play through! Wind Waker was my first Zelda game that I fully completed. This game has a special place in my gamer heart. The art style, the atmosphere, the characters full of expression, the story, the music. This version of Ganondorf is the best we have so far. I love that there was depth to him other than “I am power hungry and evil so I must rule the world” at the end. Made him feel, more human in a sense. This final boss fight is my favorite, fighting a crashed out Ganondorf that went from “Don’t worry, I will not kill you” to trying to murder two children to just prove a point, while Hyrule itself is being destroyed. Wind Waker as you might guessed is highly regarded to me. Glad that you finally gave it a chance. Also the DS games are indeed a continuation of these characters. Phantom Hourglass is a direct sequel just as Majora’s Mask was for Ocarina of Time. And Spirit Tracks is set up to be 100 years or so after Phantom Hourglass.

I’m going to miss this play through; it became my “emotional support” Let’s Play 😂. I hope you keep enjoying the LoZ series too; thanks for the fantastic content!

Hey Mapo! I’ve been a viewer for a couple years now (started with your Dark Souls playthrough) and was hooked from there! Last year when I was going through easily the most difficult point in my life, you had just started your Zelda journey, being able to watch my favorite let’s player experience my favorite video game series for the first time was sometimes the only comfort I had to look forward to, thankfully things are much better now but I say all this to say don’t ever let ANY negative comments get you down! Your content is so genuine and comforting, don’t let any vocal minority let you think differently!

Hey Mapocolops! Love your Zelda playthroughs! I've grown up playing pretty much all the Zeldas except most of the multiplayer/handheld ones. But it's been some time, and I appreciate watching someone experiencing it for the first time, someone open-minded without nostalgia, getting a more honest look at how these games stands the test of time. It also makes me reflect on maybe how our expectations of games have changed over time. With the busyness of adult life, like most games, the most precious thing I carry with me Zelda is the music. In this game, somehow the credits theme seems to bring me to tears, with how it weaves the sages' and main themes of the game together. It's interesting that the game has this patience to give these fragments, the sages melodies, that in some way do not get "resolved" until they are put together in the credits theme. I liked hearing the Outset Island theme combined with the Pirates theme in the ending, hadn't picked up on that before. I like your way of playing, prioritizing the fun. You want to experience what the game has to offer, while not feeling the need to find every heart piece or whatnot. No need to make the playthroughs overstay their welcome! I especially enjoy watching you take in the story beats, picking up on things I glossed right over as a child. One thing is watching lore videos on Youtube, but it's something special going back to the source and watch it tell its own story again. As you, I've really appreciated these 4 Zelda playthroughs! It's all been great fun. As a console player I'm very excited to see you experience Skyward Sword when that time comes! I hope you're not bothered by negative comments or fear playing the game in a wrong way! There's no wrong way, you are doing great, keep it up! Thank you!

i was in the third grade when this game came out, and i never fully beat it until i was in high school 😭 so it is very nostalgic to me, reminds me of bein a kid, wandering aimlessly through the giant sea. i’m glad you liked it!!! 💙

Hey! I want to apologies for my earlier post. I know many of them came of rude. Though it was a bit too much passion on my part, my intension wasn't to be rude. I will think before I post something from here on out. I really enjoyed the playthrough! I did promise to translate the ancient text when you completed the game though, so here you go: Valoo speaks (Part 4 - 1:12:40) "O Hero! Thank you!" "O Hero! Use the Wind God's wind!” First time you meet the Deku Tree (Part5 - 1:11:37) "That garb you wear. Could you be the legendary Hero?" "Has the King at long last found the Hero Of Time?" "What is the matter? Do you not understand the ancient Hylian tongue?" "So ... You are not the Hero Of Time?" Conversation with Jabun (Part 8 - 7:45) I include the the king of red lion (KORL) lines for context* Jabun: "Well met, Hyrule King!" KORL: "Well met indeed, Jabun. I am pleased to see that you are safe..." Jabun: "The events we have long feared seem to have been set into motion." KORL: "Yes. It seems that Ganon has returned. There can be no other explanation." Jabun: "If you have sought me out, it must mean you have found the Hero Of Time, does it not?" KORL: "Unfortunately, that is not so." Jabun: "Then for what purpose have you come to see me?" KORL: "The one I have brought with me has no connection to the legendary one. And yet I sense great promise in the courage that this one possesses." Jabun: "Promise? You suggest that I leave the fate of Hyrule up to mere chance?" KORL: "I do. It is the only way." Jabun: "I see. Then I suppose it is up to the gods to deem whether his courage is true. I give you the guidepost to the Gods." (Get the pearl) Jabun: "This jewel should break the curse that Ganon has cast upon the land." KORL: "So... that foul rain and endless night were indeed elements of a curse brought on us by Ganon! He must intend to cast this land into pure darkness for all time..." (While they are on the way out) Jabun: "Tell me, Hyrule King. Have you learned the whereabouts of the one who carries on the bloodline of the Princess, Zelda?" KORL: "...I believe I have." Jabun: "That is well. You must protect Zelda. She cannot be permitted to fall into the hands of Ganon. I am counting on you!" Valoo after roasting forsaken fortress (Part 10 - 1:42:45) "Still ... It is too soon for us to relax. Ganon cannot be destroyed by such simple means as wrath and fire." "I see ... And I agree. Very well, then! We are counting on you!" Other things that change on second quest: -You keep blue starting clothes through the whole game. Your grandma give you an invisible tunic. Text referring the tunic are changed. -You keep your pictobox. Nintendo Gallery progress carry over. It's actually only possible to complete the gallery on the second quest, as you wouldn't normally have the color camera when meeting early charaters. -Some treasure chart locations are different Some (but not all) differences on Gamecube version and HD version: -No fast sail on GC version -Every 8 triforce shards had a map you needed to decipher (meaning you needed a lot of rupees), and then you had to fish them all up from the ocean. -In Ganons tower, the small sections leading toward the the four boss "dreams" where added in the HD version. On Gamecube, you got straight to the boss when going through the doors. -Instead of Tingle bottle, you got Tingle Tuner which do things on a GameBoy Advance when connected to the Gamecube -In the GC version, enemies knocked link out of the boat -To get the color pictobox in the GC version, you had to deliver the cameraman a color firefly from forest haven instead of doing his questline. I case you wondered what the last item slot for the inventory was, it was the magic armor, that works the same way as in Twilight Princess. It drains your rupees instead of hearts. However, in the gamecube version, it drained magic instead. You get it by completing the goron trading sequence. Now lastly some advice if you are going to play Phanton Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. You originally move link by using a stylus on a touch screen. It was already a bit clunky to do, and its even more if you try emulate it with a mouse. Some mandatory minigames require fast reaction time with your stylus, which is almost imposible to do with your mouse. I've seen a let's player having to quit because of this. The games also make use of the DS's mic. Basicly, I recommend finding a way to play the game as authentic as possible when recording. I don't know if there are any good ways to emulate it. I don't know if you already looked at the zelda-timeline or want to wait till you played all zelda games. But Phanton Hourglass should be played before Spirit Tracks.

Hey Mapo. I never commented, because i am, like you said, one of the silent viewers. As others have said, please dont let these negative comments get you down. You are an amazing lets player and person and i love you for playing my favourite video game series of all time. I joined your Patreon at the beginning of twilight princess and watched OoT and MM on YouTube. It was so much fun watching you play these games and experience them blind. I really wonder which of these games so far is your favourite? Mine is Majoras Mask as you can see at my profile picture and username. Playing it as a kid (31 now) was such an amazing and unique experience and i love the atmosphere and story the most. Seeing you having so much fun really fills my heart with joy, so i hope you will never stop because of this minority with their negative comments. As for the next Zelda, i really wish that you play Skyward Sword next, as it is really important for the overall story of the series, but do as you like. Keep up the good work. Thank you very very much and greetings from Germany. :)

Another one down! I started watching when you made your first Ocarina of Time episode. I've been watching since, as well as all your old stuff. I love how analytical you are, and how much attention you pay to the games. It's certainly a breath of fresh air coming from the streamers I used to watch. I subbed to your Patreon at the start of this series, and I intend to keep it! Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the journey Mapo! Been going through a rough time and your daily uploads have really helped.

Been experiencing Zelda for the first time along with you! Totally understand how legendary and beloved this series has become along the way. I think out of all them I've enjoyed Wind Waker the most, its just the one with the most sense of adventure and the artstyle is so endearing. Also think it's perfect you ended your playthroughs of this era of the games with this, as it does really feel like they're closing out this chapter and opening the next. Can't wait to see where you go from here, and will have to play these myself one day!

I usually never comment but on the final episode of a game I love I feel like I have to. I discovered your channel about two years ago I believe when I was looking for blind dark souls playthroughs. Ever since then I've been watching an absurd amount of your playthroughs and you even made me fall in love with games or franchises I had never played like metal gear. You starting to play Zelda games was what finally convinced me to join your Patreon as I feel like I have to give something back for the hours upon hours of entertainment you've provided us with over the last few years. Thank you and keep it up!

i liked how fast you uploaded each video of this series it seems damn near everyday had a zelda ww upload it was a nice pace

Hi mapo! I'm one of those silent lurkers you mentioned haha, thank you for uploading these. I really dig your energy and "way of play." Alot of streamers and let's players that I've seen worry a bit too much (imo) about pleasing the viewers and making sure they're entertained. Not that that's wrong necessarily, but I much prefer what I've seen from you, the focus on simply enjoying the journey and allowing us to come along for the ride! I'm a lifelong Zelda fan, started out with Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past, some of my earliest memories are of playing those on my brothers' consoles. Its always refreshing to see someone new to the series experience these games, and I've really enjoyed your theory crafting along the way! Its great to know you'll check out the other wind waker related games eventually, im sure you'll have a good time with them! I'm excited to see you get into the 2d games as well but all good things come in time! So yeah, if I had any opinion I'd want you to take away, its to keep doing what you're doing man, cause in a sea full of rupee chests, you're a piece of heart, brother.

I guess I can stop lurking, just this once. Haha. Your uploads bring me so much joy. I started with your dark-souls videos, and I loved the way that you played those blind. Your ability to to stay immersed in the experience while also sharing your thoughts at the same time. I can't explain it, but it really sets you apart from other streamers that treat the game like "a game". You treat it more like an actual world, you try to know and understand the characters. I like that you focus on the game itself, what its trying to portray, its mechanics... etc. Very much like how I try to play games.

Tina Carter

I’m sorry to hear people have been annoying - watching you figure stuff out in your own time is a major source of the fun of your playthroughs! I really appreciate that your playthroughs are blind, and how you talk through your thought processes working things through. I hope you keep having fun and keep letting us tag along!!
