I have a few words to say for the first part of this video, which is mostly about the public youtube backseating/comments that I really needed to get off my chest. It's not directed at patrons who have been way more chill. Hate to even include it but they don't read when I pin comments.

Hate hearing how awful people can be to your blind experience in the comment section and how it’s effected you wanting to go forward with the Zelda series. I want you to know that your blind experiences are what we treasure seeing, especially in the case with Zelda being my favorite franchise. You’re the only let’s player I regularly watch and are a patron for BECAUSE of how observant and consistently entertaining you are. Your passion for games is shown each and every time which is what has drawn me and I’m sure most others to your channel. Anyone who acts like they haven’t struggled with noticing seemingly obvious things or struggled with puzzles and/or progression in these games is straight up lying to you, they’re designed to be puzzling in their progression and exploration which you handle exceedingly well for each entry on the channel being your first! I love Zelda but I didn’t really know until recently how shitty the fan base is. Anyone with a brain should know that if someone plays a game for the first time they have to figure it out. I don’t understand why folks don’t get that. Or why folks just can’t act their age. Maybe some people don’t play games for fun, maybe they play because nobody wants to interact with them. Idk. It’s aggravating when “good” people have to give someone who just wants to have fun a hard time. It’s a damn shame. Thankfully the world isn’t completely full of people like that. I work long and hard every day in the Texas sun, and I enjoy a good unwind watching these vids. I think some people need to find other things to do. Anyways. Thanks for the vid! 😁

Sorry to hear about those mean comments :( I don't understand why people watch if it just makes them mad. I've been enjoying your playthrough so much! I myself stopped playing this game at the Palace of Darkness because I got stuck and didn't know how to progress (and didn't feel like Googling i guess). Have been experiencing the rest of the game for the first time through your playthrough 😂 . I hope you don't stop playing Zelda, and more 2D/top-down Zeldas like this one would be so fun!

I’m sorry some of the YouTube comments have been picky/backseating. Like others have said, I hope that doesn’t dampen your spirits too much or turn you off from the Zelda series completely. It’s kind of baffling that some people don’t understand the concept of a “blind” play through—plus you’re not just playing the game for the first time, you are providing commentary and have other games on the docket. I think sometimes people forget the work that goes into content creation. Thanks again for the episode, Mapo!

people can be so weird sometimes. ive loved all of your blind zelda playthroughs so much, especially seeing you get lost like any new player would, thats part of the entire appeal of watching for me. if a certain section takes too long to the point of bugging me then i'd just skip forward. please play skyward sword soon!

You should honestly just ignore any criticism towards how you play a video game. It’s a video game. It’s supposed to be fun, not some kind of certificate. You don’t owe a type of gameplay to people just because you make YouTube videos. That’s entitlement.

here's one little visual detail I've never really heard anyone ever mention about ether. When you cast it, you see almost like a sheikah looking eye or something like that, like an eye of the gods or whatever, pretty neat detail

I really don't get why people watch blind playthroughs of a game, then proceed to get annoyed when they're not playing the game "properly". I love watching your content because you provide such good insight and commentary into your experiences that I struggle to find anywhere else, and struggling or not doing an "optimal" path in a game is part of that. It's honestly really sad that there are people out there who would ruin someone's first time playing a game by making them feel terrible about the decisions they made or the way they've played it. Please keep doing what you're doing, the amount of people that love and appreciate it far outweigh the ones that don't :)

Absolutely love your playthroughs and would be heartbroken if you let a few (albeit all too many) bad eggs ruin it for you and cause you to abandon the series. You are peak for gaming videos. I haven't found anyone that even comes close. Mental health advice you didn't ask for: copy out all the positive comments you see by hand, and look at them whenever you're feeling down. People love you. And rightly so!

I was so excited when I saw that you uploaded your first episode of ocarina of time because I knew they'd be my favorite Zelda playthroughs on YouTube. I've loved watching you go on a Zelda journey and I could tell you had a lot of fun with it as well. So it really saddens me to hear how some people in the Zelda community have been treating you. I rarely ever read or write comments and when I do it's usually just to hopefully give you some more engagement. I wasn't aware of how bad it had gotten. I understand your disappointment in the Zelda community but please don't let it discourage you. Seeing these blind playthroughs brings me so much joy and I just struggle with expressing my gratitude from time to time. Everyone plays games their own way but I definitely like the way you play games so please keep up the good work!

I'm so sorry that there are so many inconsiderate Zelda fans. My only guess as to why there are so many is just because Zelda is so popular and has such a long history. I truly hope they wont dissuade you from doing blind LPs of more Zelda games. I found your Majora's Mask playthrough, then watched OoT, then TP, and then subscribed here for early access for WW. And I was super hype to see ALttP get voted for the next one. You've got, imo, some of the most entertaining blind Zelda playthroughs. I just wanted to say this to let you know that you're doing great and I'm hoping most of us are always excited to see you figure things out, and we love your appreciation of the lore~

I literally joined your patreon because you started playing Zelda Games and I didn’t want to wait for the YouTube releases. Also, 99% of people are lying if they say this game was easy for them on their first playthrough, this is a hard game and anyone who says it isn’t doesn’t remember the first time they played it. I try to keep my comments constructive, this is a series close to my heart, so if I’ve contributed to the negative element of discourse surrounding your time going through these games I sincerely apologize. Please keep it up, I would love to see an A Link Between Worlds playthrough.

I'm sorry you got those horrible comments, but know your zelda play through are some of my favourites, I have seen this game played many times and I LOVE the way you respect and fully explore games, and the reason your community love your playthroughs is because you allow yourself to learn and grow and it's just awesome to watch! I’ve followed your entire Zelda journey both on YouTube and more recently through Patreon. You actually inspired me to play this all the way through because I’d never actually done it despite being reasonably familiar, I had always quit after the first dark world dungeon. This game is not easy and has a lot of obscure mechanics and environmental information. I have no idea why so much of the Zelda fans are being so rude about this game in particular. I love the anticipation of watching you pace your way through the game and really hope that the negativity doesn’t stop you from continuing the series, your passion for it is easy to see:)

I am absolutely loving this series, this being one of my core childhood games. I am concerned about the IQ of some of these people. You are always open and honest with us about them all being a blind play throughs. I know I played and beat this game when it first came out. But I know I missed so many different things when I played it. This is my all time favorite game in the series and sealed my love for it. I definitely rage quit a few different times but I kept coming back for the love of the game. Hell, (sorry for the bad word) I named my oldest son Lincoln so I could call him Linc. :) I will watch your episodes and to the TV go you missed that or why didn’t you try this. But then I think about it and was like who cares sure he will figure it out later. I mean he has figured out all of the games so far. I really struggled with Majora’s Mask. But I’m rambling now and I just wanted to stay don’t let all the Negative Nancy’s (wish there was a better name cause I loved my Aunt Nancy) ruin this series for you. If you feel like they are making you not want to share your journey then make them Patreon exclusives. :) love watching you play and figure out all different games. Maybe one day if you haven’t already played it try The Legend of Dragoon. :) have an amazing day, week, month, & year.
