One more animation from this weekend's pass, again coming from Smeargle, though we went back and forth on this one despite being much a  much simpler move than the others. I believe one of the revisions might have been in a stream.  Call this closure or something.

The main gimmick here is using Essentials' feature to support different animations for multiple hits of the same move (veteran players might remember the Icicle Spear glitch when Essentials implemented this, where Icicle Spear would play about 5 different animations per use and it Was Glorious). Honestly I don't even know what moves we would use this on besides Bonemerang, and by the way, why doesn't the canon series do this for bonemerang??? cuz they don't, right? at least not that i saw (but i dont have animation videos for 6th/7th gen so maybe it's new?)

*casually typo's it again*

Anyway, with a strong rotation and separate forward/back hit motions this comes out to being one of the more unique animations functionally. It's good stuff.

A bit different case but it would be nice to have different animation for each phase of Rollout since the strength is increasing with each hit. I remember there were different animations in the official games. Bonemerang looks good! I was just thinking about training a Marowak in Reju. Guess I'll wait for this.

Amethyst Liddell and Chasing Selene

were there really different roll outs in the main series?? i did not know that unfortunately since it's not a multiple-hits-in-one-turn move, the system i mentioned doesn't apply to it as far as essentials is concerned :
