finished the story stuff for the desert area last night.
which is a weird thing to say because some of you might play through the whole episode and not find any story stuff in the desert
but others will.
this episode's kind of an oddball on it. a lot of it is focused on solo exploration but also it might not be focused on that at all
i guess in really is the only way out.

as i keep doing story stuff, it's going to get even harder for me to make posts without spoiling you all. so following one person's comment on yesterday's post, i wanna know from y'all as a whole if there are any puzzles/areas/aspects of the game that you'd like to know more about how they were made. load me up with some post ammo here.

someone else commented before about talking about animations and 7th gen changes for the game. the problem with animations: yeah we can do a few. i was doing them more recently unfortunately the animators have kind of been busy with things lately so i haven't been getting a whole lot to review. i've given them a good poking recently so i have a few things, but most of them have been seen on stream before too. so eeeeeh.
7th gen- event changes/where alolas are/team changes are just, similar to the above issue, i don't want to spoil you guys for things that otherwise might be interesting to rediscover in new playthroughs.

so idk. this feels like a losing battle, where even if i scrounge up things for this episode i'll eventually run out as far as story things go. i may just back off of daily updates specifically when working on story, though i'd still try to make regular posts when i can (i also have not worked on starlight/dptg as much lately due to trying to finish out this episode)

after the episode is out and you've had a chance to play it i plan on asking you all if/how these posts have affected your experience, in terms of spoilerisms. so heads up for that eventually. that might determine how i go forward more than anything.

Since you can't tell us specifics about the story for this episode, maybe go into your progress on implementing story elements using a previous episode as an example? Maybe EP14, where the player's running around Ametrine? You could also maybe do tales of past development mishaps/problems you encountered during previous episodes that either resulted in a funny story or roadblock? I know I personally want to know how you decided to have the story progress the way it did, and how you decided which leader we'd face in each episode, but I feel the answer to the latter is "Just depends where the story took things" and the answer for the former is "I had it all planned out from the beginning". Any major changes to the story that happened over the course of development? I dunno. Most of this can also be answered as a comment. But who knows, could make for a short post idea of you're running short of non-spoilery things to say.

since I'm a nostalgic historian optimist by heart, what Eric said sounds good - something about earlier episodes would probs hit the spot quite well. ^^

Hearing about how you've made some of the past areas or developed things in general would be good I think. Also, I personally wouldn't mind you cutting back updates to every other day or something. :)

Regarding the exploration factor of this new episode, have you considered ways to make caves visible at night? I notice din the last episode when looking for my Razor Claw that I couldn't see the cave entrance for it while playing at night (which I didn't realize would be an issue otherwise I'd have changed my computer time). Luckily the miracle of youtube showed me, but now I wonder how many other things I missed because I played an area at night.

I would like to know how the AI works. Also, very curious how you'll trick out the AI to deal with field effects.

I've always been curious about your general design process for creating story content, area designs and quests. So I wouldn't mind a few posts being dedicated to explaining this.
