finally finished! i feel like i've been working on him forever but i'm really happy with how he came out. i was partway through figuring out his color scheme and i decided i wanted to do some weird contrasting colors that i wouldn't normally do. it's kind of refreshing to me. the boxes are on the left are just colour palette references for me whenever his graphics are made. quick 'n ez.

Karus is a guardian first, a wanderer second, and a savior least of all. He and his mentor, Pyre, roam the Hellish countryside rescuing orphaned children, Nephilim, and fallen or captured Angels. After having been rescued as such himself long ago he decided the only thing to do was follow in Pyre's footsteps for a new generation.

And yet, no matter how many people he is able to help, it is never enough to forgive himself-- not for those he could not save, not for the greatest sin of his lifetime, and not for his life itself.

apart from the art which looks very good (I don't have too many references of things you have absolutely drawn yourself? 1 or 2? you're really improving :3), even knowing since when Starlight was a thing inside your head, I'm always impressed how many little details you have thought of and worked out. it's so weird to read about "rescuing orphaned children in hell" (and Nephilim won't be a stranger term to anyone having played Diablo) and then there's already the hint of him blaming himself for something that happened in the past ...then I don't even know anything about the date format, liiike AF? anno..? after..? and pisces liike the zodiac sign (my eyes will shimmer at every ounce of Latin, since you're dealing with heaven and hell), is it a name for an equivalent to months? and looks like those even have more than 31 days... and how will all these very very unique characters come together for a story? I don't remember them very well (yet), but most of them didn't sound like waging war is a hobby of theirs.... many many questionmarks. :3

in this case "AF" is "After the Fall [of Heaven]", when god abandons the world and twists it into its current shape as for the dates themselves, The Divide uses the actual astronomical date format of zodiac constellations as months. our current popular zodiac divisions are actually outdated and incorrect; this uses an actual system developed over the same 365 day year split into 13 months for each zodiac per the actual sign that sun is in (or for that world Diespiter). it is possible to cross these back to actual dates in our own calendar system. for instance Karus's birthday, Pisces 34 would April 14th.
