so past several days. obviously still doing bug fixes. haven't actually done much else... someone decided to post like four gabillion minor errors from the entire game so that has taken... a good amount of hours for a few nights. i mean. i appreciate it. thanks cross. but uggggggggggggggggggh.

minor errors are like typos here, or in this specific case consistency issues like what proper nouns get capitalized... or you know just oversights that somehow nobody else reported for the past five years... they really only take a second to fix but navigating around to them and finding the specific line, especially when it's alllll over the game takes a few minutes... and those few minuteses stack up quickly.

anyway.

i've also started working on a new piece with the composer from before, for the city theme, o colosso. this will be for starlight... basically we're starting on character themes since my idea of how to build a sound track is start with the leitmotifs and build out from them, mixing, combining and corrupting as we go. but i need those first few building blocks.

script side bugs continue as well... marcello fixed the issue with hidden power that it wasn't properly being altered by field type changes... and same thing for moves like judgment, multiattack basically anything that changes type so ka-whoops but that's all better now

i also was f i n a l l y able to recreate one of the inaction errors this episode, and for better or worse, it could be all of the inaction errors.
i mean, that's really, really optimistic. but let's dream until proven wrong.

the reason it could be all of them is because the problem-- and it hasn't been fixed so i can't say exactly what the problem was yet-- is in the set of scripts which decides when to switch. it's a pretty esoteric condition, too...
basically it's when it's looking to see if the AI pokemon will be KO'd by a faster player pokemon's attack, and if we have a pokemon in the party that would be immune to that attack that we can switch to. it would be pretty nice to get that going tbh... the fact that it's crashing in such an esoteric condition probably explains why we haven't been able to replicate it-- but finding the problem is the hard part. we can probably get that sorted and then hopefully public will be inaction-free

yes, optimistic. but if it's not, heck it, that's what E18 is for.

happy to help! the actual consistency check comes soon. and the E17 check so you can fix it for E18... are you looking forward to it? I sure am. ^-^ I hope you can sort out more of the bugs soon, digging through the code actually sounds like the most annoying thing to do..... and of course it will be all of them! optimism always wins!
