[Starlight] Profile: Glasya (Patreon)

uh geez so this will look familiar to those of you who attended the stream a month or so but like i said back then gotta keep doing stuff for it that i can't necessarily show yet ^^;  but even then i didn't say much about the character himself, so here we go.

Too hellish to have a home in Heaven, but too angelic to be accepted by demons, many nephilim, children of angels and demons, take to obscuring their birth or hiding their more unique features... but for some, that isn't an option in the first place. Such it is for those who suffer the Nephilim's Curse, or Sunspots, a condition in which patches large and small of an individual's skin turn bright at random forever. Many emmortals believe the curse is a mark bestowed by Diespiter Xemself as a symbol of Xyr scorn for the unnatural beings. While only a small portion of nephilim display this curse, no pure-blooded emmortal ever has. Therefore while it does not entail any physical pain, those marked with sunspots are destined to suffer yet, if only at the hands of whatever callous society they may find themselves in.

Glasya is one of those unlucky few. An orphan in Hell, he was raised by solely by his sister, Sephany, until the two of them found refuge in a surprisingly welcoming orphanage by the name of Hearthshire. Nevertheless, his peers have afforded him little chance to forget his status. Thus, Glasya grew up preferring to spend time in the company of lesser demons rather than other emmortals.

His preference soon earned him company he would not have found elsewhere in the form of a single Tarrakoal Cat. Whereas most Tarrakoals sport a sleek coat of black and red, this one had only managed to produce white spots instead. With time, patience and care, he was able to earn the cat's trust and named her "Lynnoe" after a character from the stories Sephany told him as a kid. The two have been virtually inseparable ever since. 

As for Sephany herself, things have not gone so well. He will have to act to save her, and fast.

not that i do them with any reasonable speed, but since this is finally off my list, i'll stop working on concept art and profiles and such, and start playing around to see how involved making assets for DragonBones will be. I was thinking the other night I may even be able to use it as a kind of Live2D stand-in for messages anyway... i'm pretty excited. we'll see.
