maybe a little short on words here because i've been actively reminded of my apparent bell pepper allergy.........
(it's not severe so no worries.. just... blech.)

vulpes' reviews were done today, and three moves were completed! two you can already guess from the title and the third is baneful bunker.

so here's a zing zap:

this one is a little fun because that orb at the start was originally a fucking disaster. look at this hideous graphic from 3rd gen (thundershock maybe?):

so what we've done is we've switched that orb to an additive mode, meaning the color values of the pixels are added to what's below them instead of just overwriting them, and then stacked that ontop of itself several times at differing, and then slid another solid one underneath for visibility. personally i'm very impressed with the what the result grew up into from that young tiny little monstrosity of a graphic.

then, pollen puff

pollen puff can't be too unfriendly since it can also be used on a partner,,, but would the AI ever do that?

as it turns out, now it would.

we finally finished implementing the last piece of the AI that we planned to add, which was logic for ally-targetting moves. i've probably posted this list before but it gained a couple additions, so that includes:

  • simple beam
  • skill swap
  • frost breath/storm throw
  • beat up
  • heal pulse
  • topsy turvy
  • floral healing
  • instruct
  • pollen puff
  • purify
  • spotlight
  • psych up
  • swagger
  • flatter

...which i think should cover everything anyone will ever need.

and on the note of needing it, one of those moves will be absolutely pivotal in a major battle in E19 so i'm glad to have it done by then...

since that, and all of our immediate priorities in debugging and tweaking AI are now done, marcello will be moving on from that to bigger and better bugs. we're surely going to be revisiting it to tweak for some lingering issues, but for now, stick a fork in it-- it's done.

i will see you tomorrow on twitch!
also, here's stream times for the rest of january

the aether awaits me good bye

Wow, that's a huge milestone! It sucks that Patreon refuses to display .gif's on mobile tho.
