ok.
so, although like literally always, i feel like i've gotten nothing done ever in my entire life, we've taken some strides this month....
most notably, we finished mapping victory road. its big. like rly big. i'm pretty happy with how it's come out overall visually, but ask me again after testing and seeing how many places it's possible to get stuck in because that will ruin my feeling of everything...
so i've been dripping out some of the in-progress screenshots and such over time, and i suppose i'll pop another one here.
this will be linked for those who wish to avoid visual spoilers: https://i.imgur.com/BMjICMa.png
so obviously, eventing comes next. it's been difficult for me to update the scoreboard on the development blog, because after spending some time on it i realized the time it was taking and would take to figure out how to divvy up eventing and story percentages was just going to be better spent actually working on the thing... so it may not look like much is going on there, but we're doing well overall!
so, five days ago i posted that i had finished eventing the first two maps, which alone constituted most of act 1. and it took over 50 switches and a lot of tedium due to one of the puzzle mechanics in particular. but since moving on from that mechanic i have....
frankly done most of the rest of victory road. the rest was so easy. it was... so, so... easy.
but that's not to say we're there yet. i have three-and-two-half puzzles to do yet, none of which i expect to be particularly difficult or even time-consuming, but i have to hold off on them until i catch up with the story because they all involve story characters that i want to make sure are speaking to the proper contexts at the time. story takes more energy and therefore time (especially when i've been two steps away from narcoleptic lately...) but we'll get there.
i feel like i say that a lot. we'll get there.
i'm not wrong,
but i could probably stand to say something else instead.
cass has also been working hard on various teams for the episode, including transferring over all of the champions' teams into the game. they're all there now! not playable yet, but the code's there so all i gotta do is tell the system go. we also made the graphics for those folks, but you can find those in this post for spoiler posterity
so victory road is still the bulk of things and that's going well, but we've got a handful of side improvements too.
the town map was finally finished, firstly, after 100 million years:

and cass also finished out her own pet project to add the modern stones to the mining minigame! you can read about that one here, if you hadn't already.
we've got some other minor improvements to the existing game which i haven't yet talked about here, so i think i'll save those for a future post where i can give them the appropriate space (and some folks may not skip over them since this is supposed to be just a recap post after all........)

so on one final note, i'm very overdue for animation reviews again, so i'm enlisting y'all to help me through them. i'll be streaming tomorrow (4/9) at 1pm MDT. hit the link to check your own timezone. it's been a little too long, so i hope to see y'all there!
