I'm a little tardy-- it's been about 12 hours since we announced it on the main server. the time has been kind to me. in many respects i feel like it's gone just about as it could have, and i'm so grateful to everyone for the interest, kindness and support they've shown the project
and especially to all of you for helping make it happen <3

...now before, i go off rambling too much, let me get the point of this post out of the way-- the starlight divide demo beta is live. if you haven't already gotten a chance to play it... well, now you do.

http://www.starlightdivide.com/

the ticket to entry for the download links is your forum account!

while i'm on the subject of the forum, please note if you're level 5+ and maybe even if you're not, you can now link your patreon account directly into the site! This can be done on Account Settings and because that's automatically managed, anyone who had or wants the Supporter status will need to do that to get/keep it. but that happens instantly now so that's cool, and saves me time each month.

...anyway, back to rambling, i've stressed a lot about this, haven't been eating much, may or may not have stayed up all night for some last minute additions whoops, not terribly healthy. granted we have full release expected for next week, now that we've got a much wider sample of availability, i feel like i can breathe.

there are some bugs, of course. there always are. a couple crashes-- but nothing too reliable from what i've seen. the only thing i don't know how to handle is some users getting black screens after combat; it seems to be a limitation of integrated GPUs? it seems like it can be fixed by using a proper gaming GPU, but our goal is ultimately for it to be able to run on integrated graphics (that support the libraries). lots of blurry lines with the handful of cases we've seen-- unsure if it's an issue with performance or compatibility. very concerned about it.
however, most(?) people seem to be more or less fine.

i breathe.

i begin to realize that i need to set more of an emotional boundary with these bugs. generally i always feel like i have a responsibility to resolve them first and foremost before i am 'allowed' to continue, and although we've launched the past couple reborn episodes with hefty known bug lists, it can probably account for at least some of my slowness. not to say that i intend to start disregarding them or anything, but at the very least, i need to chill.
think about things differently.
the usual.

i'll see you all again for the public demo release. then you know what comes after that.
