Battle Pavilion 2: Factory of Battle (Patreon)
Content
last post i said would have a follow-up... i'd do a dramatic reveal, but the title probably gives it away.
The Pokemon Essentials wiki describes the Battle Factory like this:

And so, we did not expect to include this when we first planned and announced Nightclub features
But then, from the woodwork, came Toothpastefairy (Perry). Perry describes the Battle Factory like this:
"hey i fixed battle factory"
...quote inexact. i was just going to post his original video of it above but patreon won't embed it, so this whole segment lost its power. heck.
that video was his mod fix to the scripts thirty thousand pandemic years ago, and we've since adopted him onto the team for realsies, and he's just done so much fantastic work guys, you don't even know, and i worry that no one will fully appreciate the extent of his efforts since most of it is just bug fixes but also it's so many bug fixes damn boi
#PerryAppreciationPost
anyway, it may have taken forty seven thousand pandemic years, but in addition to Battle Pavilion, we also have Battle Factory fully integrated into the Nightclub!

In addition to the standard battle factory play from canon, reborn's randomly rolled field effects especially shine here. Perry has created two modes using them: either the field will randomize between each match, and you will be told what it is before each match, or it will randomize once for your entire set of seven matches.
To be honest, I was suspicious about that second one at first-- why do we need a distinction? then i tried it (and this was my first experience with any battle factory challenge-- i never played it in canon). and i was like
oh
actually it's like its own kinda minigame strategy because you can swap out pokemon between rounds, you can just try and build up a team that takes as much advantage of your set's field as possible
i didn't know that between round swapping existed but with that in the mix, it's kinda like its own deck-building minigame. fresh. i love it, actually
on the other hand, if you do the field per-match setting, rather than deck building, it's more like opportunism. you know your next match is on short circuit and the last opponent you just faced had an electric type? i mean why not snatch that right up, right?
i thought that the per-set challenge would actually end up being an easier mode, since you can stick with a winning strategy for the whole set... but in practice i've found more success on per-match. strange? maybe i'm just bad? oh well, in my opinion, they definitely both deserve to be in because they're both a lot of fun!
another thing you can see in the above linked video he added was doubles support for battle factory.
so that's a thing.
we didn't actually plan to do doubles at all with our battle tower stuff, but, since it's there... why not backport doubles support to battle pavilion too? done and done.
between options no fields/random fields, pavilion/factory, singles/doubles and per set/per match, the nightclub already has a fair bit of potential for you to customize your postgame challenge just the way you like it! ...and that's just one corner of the lobby so far.
