my progress is as barren as the desert (Patreon)

the weekend went about as expected. and as expected, i didn't get a ton done. nevertheless! i did have a few ideas on sunday of what i should post today, and i was very impressed with myself for finding good things despite being gone!
unfortunately, it is not sunday. it is wednesday. and i do not have a clue what those things were.
JUST KIDDING I JUST REMEMBERED I STARTED WORKING ON STARLIGHT'S COMBAT SYSTEM wow how do i forget about that?????
and how did i just remember it?? that was five days ago. that might be a new record for me.
so yep okay originally i had told myself i wouldn't let myself start on anything tangible for starlight until after reborn was finished because i didn't want to let myself get distracted. when i was younger i had a history of not finishing things, or jumping around from game to game to game in a matter of months. so i'm like, in order to make sure i finish reborn, i won't do anything else until i do.
working on DPTG on the side has shown me that i'm actually more than able to adequately juggle working on two (three) projects. which, i suppose this makes sense-- that my resolve and focus might have improved since i was a teenager. shocker, i know. moreover i've recently found that it actually helps with motivation and productivity since if sometimes if i feel burned out on working on reborn i can just switch gears to DPTG and still get shit done and feel good about it.
so it's cool stuff. i started starlight's combat system (normally there is not a distinction between "combat system" and "battle system" in a game, but there is for starlight-- we got two different things to hammer together) and it's a bit slow for me to get started since i am just learning javascript (RMMV uses that instead of RMXP's Ruby) and since i am still trying to understand the framework of RMMV's scripts (which fortunately, are much, much smaller than Reborn's. Essentials games have like 10x the code compared to RM default battle systems). so i may be slow to start, but we'll see what i can do.
also chipping away on the desert as always and regretting its entire existence but what else is new
