Help mod Gen 8 Battle Pavilion! (Patreon)

just to get any misconceptions out of the way, this is about a mod, we are not announcing a gen 8 update for reborn at this time. 

those of you more involved with the community might immediately think aren't there some other gen 8 mods already? yes, there are, however the existing ones that i'm aware of have greater scopes (i.e add more than -just- gen 8), and/or don't quite align with the base game's design values. 

recently, one of our longstanding patron friends, Cad, has been undertaking a project to do a simple, quality, by-the-book gen 8 mod and we've been looking to get him some support for the project on the development side of things.

Firstly, if you’re on the Patreon discord, and would like to chat about / test / offer feedback for this project, I have a thread in the reborn-captain channel.

Anyway, the Battle Pavilion. There are a lot of sets there. Cass crowdsourced this before because, let’s be real, there’s no way any one person can do this. I need help getting it up to speed for Gen 8. 

I’ve set up the spreadsheet to hopefully be pretty self-explanatory. There’s a Rules tab, which goes over the rules for sets. Any set is okay, as long as it serves a purpose! (Purposes can vary. There’s a FEAR Dratini and physical Alakazam in base e19. Just don’t make something that sits there and dies.)  

My aim is to have at least one set for every fully evolved legal Pokémon and regional variant introduced in SwSh– however, I can go over and patch up any holes if everyone hates a specific Pokémon. (It’s probably Zarude, I don’t blame you) 

Sets on old Pokemon with new toys in SwSh (Kanto Weezing is a good example) are encouraged, too. 

In addition, Pokémon with new, better options that just need pre-existing sets altered, such as physical Ices and Flyings that lacked Brave Bird getting Triple Axel and Dual Wingbeat respectively, that goes in Old Sets. If you don’t have btpokemon.txt, it’s included in the PBS downloads on the Reborn FAQ.

Personally I am staying hands off with this project so I can focus on forward developments, but I am all behind this. It was fun to get everyone involved with making the sets in the first place, so I hope that those of you who enjoyed it before or otherwise weren't around to do so have a good chance now!

There may be more opportunities to help out with this and other community mod projects in the future too...
