star sprites and other pursuits (Patreon)

i've been begging them for years in every feedback survey to please do that.
...and then i accidentally held the up arrow for too long and it crashed and deleted my entire post.

so, um, work in progress!

a-anyway, uh, here, this is me today:

i am forced to eat my words.
nothing dire has happened-- nothing unexpected anyway... battle tower was just like, way more thoroughly broken than anyone could've realized. rejuv and deso don't have it yet, so it was just never remade for the script update. thank you to haru for pushing that boulder uphill!!!

by the way, big big shout to everyone who volunteered after my prior call for help! I was blown away by the number of people who immediately offered, and i am very grateful to EVERYONE who was willing to help out. i believe we are rapidly getting on top of the bulk of the small tasks, and soon there will be aught but bigger and more fun project features to integrate... we'll talk about them in the future. in the mean time, please be patient for just a liiiiiitle longer.

speaking of people who have been doing God's work, let's share a couple sprites from ye olde smeargle of the tail. he has been handling our OWs for starlight as of light, and doing just a bang-up job. for instance, here's the friend we showed last week! 

he's also been hard at work on some of our lesser angels. for point of reference, lessers are just what animals in the Divide are known as. so, the puppies from the demo were lesser demons. here's our poster child, who one astute patron already noticed a small plush of in a previous map:

i don't 100% remember if this was smeargle's or not... it might've been a group effort between him, myself, and raven helping us get the smear on the wings right. hard to make a full flap look good in three frame motion, but i think it worked out pretty well! I believe this is what we eventually ended up working out!

This is another one that we ended up doing in the distant past... I haven't posted this before, right? God, I don't even know. I'll catch up eventually. And we have some other lessers and sprites to post...

I've set a reminder for myself to post here regularly! no more suddenly realizing it's been a month! I am getting Organized yes !!!!! and then we'll have to get back up on the dev blog. everything they get, you should be getting first, or more of. i can do this. yes! !!!

anyway, i finished another map this weekend. just one. just the second we started-- another was finished in meanwhile. there were a lot of small parts i waited on for this one. shout out to raven again for it. But I'm gonna hold off on screenshots until I get the parallaxes in game and tested with the snow effect... I'm proud of how it came out though. Every map is suffering to make, but I glow when it's done. One day we'll have the resources and/or confidence to just wing it. I'm getting there.... Stopped using RPG Maker to map. Only Aseprite now for me. We'll see how it works out!

The next couple weeks may be sparse for me. In addition to the holidays (which I am trying to ACCEPT breaks on like a NORMAL and HEALTHY person), the second run of my DnD campaign will be finishing up. We'll see what I do with it after that... It's been amazing.
But then, I also meant to take today as a personal day, and instead I've woken up feeling very strongly about writing for my other-other project... ah... the scatter is real. what is a girl to do but chase her every impulse?
