Sometimes you have to create your own perks for the job, and I think that’s a fair enough one for having your own office. Plus I like seeing the professor get warmed up himself. Pump himself up and at least feel like a big man when and where he can, instead of the hot mess and pathetic pup he has become.

Honestly, if he is a full professor he can do what the hell he wants in his office and deserves some respect. The problem may be when he looks at these bright-eyed college students and grad students and wonders how he got from a man who wanted to change the world and share knowledge to one who cared more about making sure his tenure and salary were secure without doing any more work than he had to. Where did the old fire and passion go?
