Elsie, my great-grandmother on my dad's side (whom I was blessed to have in my life through my teens), was called "Shack." No one has any clue why.

I know one of the writers for Rick and Morty!

Shugoshin {Conchobar}

Welp he ruined it calling us Rick and Morty fans. Unwatchable and unlistenable now

PnwLady

I’m a huge Rick and Morty fan 🤔😉

Love you two and these Hollywood stories. Awesome chemistry and so many needed laughs. Thanks for making my Sunday afternoon just perfect.

Corey’s right: Bo Burnham is a genius. Also re: white liberals—a couple of them were on the local PDX subreddit quoting Peggy Fucking Noonan on how eeeeeevil the DSA is. Unfortunately, some of our local city council DSA folks suck—but they’d also suck if they were Dems.

Travis Alvarez

I hope these two get an opportunity to do a live show!

This two-parter was very great. I thought that was dope Welles put on an all-black production of MacBeth. He went through a lot of perseverance for a creative visionary to get his films funded to be made. It was an interesting discussion on one of old Hollywood’s most unique filmmakers. Good banter between Alex & Corey.

Bring back Crossing Over, but with Corey

Corey, you don’t need to be so defensive about putting off heavy movies. I’m several years behind on Behind the Bastards for that very reason. Dave gets as close to awful as I can stand these days. I saw Citizen Kane as a senior in high school. Part of AP English. Except I was doing drugs in the bathroom and nodding out during most of it.

Corey, you can be forgiven Rick and Morty. Maybe you just don't know that Roland has a thing for 14 year old children.

Audax

I love these!

I never knew about Welles' genius growing up. I just remember him in those Ernest & Julio Gallo wine ads and on the Dean Martin roasts and figured he was a hack.

I can't wait for there to be enough episodes that someone comes up with an intro filled with some wild out of context bits 😂

Can’t win ‘em all. You remain a tribune of the people, a fan elevated to the microphone. Vox poopuli. You’re where I’d like to be if my novel were any good and also if I finished it and furthermore if people still read things other than Internet comments, myself included.

Aww you gotta at least see the Animaniacs parody of that commercial, Brain’s voice unchanged to play Welles. He’s hawking canned vegetables. “Chock full of green penis!”

I’m so stoked that Byrnes talked about the Federal Theatre Project. One of the most interesting and important times in American Theatre. You had the government paying for plays and shows that were pro union and a lot of them were anti capitalist. The movie they mention is a great movie and captures the time period very well.
