Oh I can’t wait to watch this one!! I worked for one of the attorneys who participated in the lawsuit between Jim Henson’s heirs and Disney. It was nicknamed Frog v Mouse ❤️

watching The Dark Crystal i was marveling at the set design that i'm sure was mostly designed to hide the puppeteers...which is impressive considering it took 6 puppeteers per Skeksis

Hey guys I don't watch movies or shows, just not my preferred media. This is a great look into stuff I know nothing about. Y'all are hilarious. I didn't know I was interested in Orsen Welles but here we are

Yay! Keep them coming!❤️

10/10 another banger.

I grew up with The Muppets and loved watching the Muppet Show. I’m with Cory in that Muppets Christmas Carol is my favourite, with Rizzo the Rat being one of the highlights - particularly when he’s tail gets lit and he’s screaming ’light the lamp not the rat, light the lamp not the rat!! Fabulous 😉

A David dastmalchian / muppet crossover: every couple months there’s a Muppet script read show at Dynasty Typewriter in LA. I’ve been to all of them — and during two of them, Dastmalchian was cast as Gonzo. He does an absolutely DELIGHTFUL gonzo impression, including “I know I’ll go back there someday”. We also got to sit by Paul Williams at the Christmas Carol show ◡̈ there will be a show for Muppets from Space in October! I very much love the Muppets, I make puppets, and I adore them. Thank you soooo much for this episode. When the title came up I was so happy! I was lucky enough to tour the old Henson studio lot in Hollywood before it closed. But for people looking for more IRL muppet stuff, Brian Henson’s Puppet Up show is a fun live improv show, the Museum of the Moving Image in New York has an incredible permanent Jim Henson exhibit, and the Museum of Puppetry Arts in Atlanta has a lot too (I haven’t been to it but I’ve heard great things). signed, a slightly obsessive Muppet fan 🐸

Loving this new show. The key to the Dollop is the chemistry between Dave and Gareth. Byrnes and CRF have chemistry too and I can see that it’s still marinating. Can’t wait to see how things start cooking. A nice addition the channel.

Loved this one. I’ve seen The Great Muppet Caper (yup, that’s the Grodin one) and The Muppet Christmas Carol so many times. Also, big bonus for the Emmet Otter shoutout. A very wholesome movie with some truly great music, and to this day my sister and I still randomly say, “Look at the biiirdds up in the treeees” when we text or visit each other. These are really awesome, guys. Each one has been so engaging.

Another fun episode! If I could post the photo of me getting hugged by Telly Monster the muppet & the puppeteer is in the photo--I would! ETA: I posted the photo in the Dollop group chat.

As someone who knew all of this already, I enjoyed the show! It's always fun info-dumping to a receptive audience.

Another delight. Thanks guys!

Madeline

This was so great. Their enthusiasm for these topics makes me so happy. Great job!

I don't know if this would qualify, but I'd like to see an episode on "Patton." I recently rewatched, and it really makes him look like a dick. I wonder if there are interesting stories behind the movie.

I've said this to Dave and Gareth at their lives shows before. I want a crossover with the How Did This Get Made podcast gang. On their episode you all get to watch and rip on a legendary disaster of a film. Then the Dollop episode is the deep dark history behind the film. I always thought having Gareth and Jason Mantzoukas go head-to-head in a tangential riff-off would be great. Now that you guys have this movie spinoff you can make it happen. I see Byrnes bonding with Paul and CRF unexpectedly being buddies with June.

Listening for a second time - and Corey, to your point about loving Tom Jones: my dad is 79 and has seen an almost absurd number of artists, in venues large and small. At one point, he took my mom to see James Brown and Tom Jones within a relatively short span - and, according to him, only one of those men was The Hardest Working Man in Show Business. He said Tom Jones was sweating so much he had literal streams running out of the bottoms of his sleeves and cuffs. My mom backs this up. Tom Jones wasn’t necessarily my dad’s cup of tea, but he said it was one of the most memorable performances he saw.

I absolutely love these. Keep em comin!

Just now catching up to this episode and I agree. Dave and Gareth also had that immediate chemistry but it really has deepened into something more as they naturally got to know each other. I see the same happening with these two.

Andrew Lapomardo

Not sure if either of them have ever heard of or seen the YouTube channel Defunctland. Dude did a 6 part series on Henson and I think you both would dig it and the rest of his work.

Brian Gregor

We need a followup on The Dark Crystal. And while y'all are discussing puppets, Peter Jackson's Meet the Feebles.

This series is soooo good i love u guys so much please dont go bald

Corey is right – good job, Byrnes. Hollywood, movies, celebrity don’t interest me much at all. Y’all get me to watch every episode though. Even if it’s a couple weeks late. (I love that Corey looks at his list for a reason to get out of bed instead of Bain’s picture or something).

We just took our kids on a WB tour and saw the swamp! And then I got really excited and annoying
