Gareth can’t be too happy in the council of redheads . Ed Sheeran is setting gingers back 50 years

Vic

Because music has never been used to inspire political change....

Paige

I remember when the Macklemore song dropped last year! Was one of the things keeping me going for a few weeks at least. Felt like it was one of the rare moments when we were actually acknowledging what was going on and I didnt feel gas lit for being depressed AF about everything when I listened to it! Makes sense it was censored to hell 🫠😭

DSPamperChu

The Elephant Graveyard is sooooo good..its been pretty awesome watching them blow up with the jre hate vids..i love all of their shit, but the best were the radio hours before they had to be edited so yt wouldnt nuke the channel..best edited videos on the internet..COMBOS!!! watching kurt "hard r" metzger crash out about it is also very funny

Cassie

All of Ed’s other openers and his band dropped out in response at this point.

Deseray Davis

So annoyed with Pink. I have listened to her music since I was 9 years old. I guess I won’t anymore.

Tyler Terwilliger

At 14:29 did someone in the crowd yell “kill him”? That’s wack

Jlev

A worker fund would’ve been such a better move. Transparency, accountability and speaking out about it clearly. It would’ve highlighted the hypocrisy of our supposed “free speech”; it’s a bipartisan issue and would’ve accelerated the process of getting the gen pop to gain awareness. Keep talking, keep flopping!

Emily Richardson

The boomerang of violence that will come back on Israel from what they’re doing in Gaza won’t just come back on Israel, it will come back on us. And we deserve it unless we stop sending Israel weapons and money and supporting this genocide. The timing of the 25th anniversary of 9/11 feels important. I think those peoples’ deaths were a tragedy and I mourn them. But I also think our government brought that upon us by their actions. I think people need to understand you can make that correlation without dishonoring the dead. It’s more dishonorable to them to not make the connection. It’s hard to not say that we deserve it to some degree. We can’t keep doing the evil things we do and expect no repercussions.

Allison Linderkamp

Macklemore got me crying at work. Amazing how rappers can do that. “Rap is a fad”. I will never understand how people treat other people in a way I wouldn’t treat an animal.

Sorth Cuanto

Talking about rebounds - Every time Hegseth uses the de-nuclearization bs to blow smoke, I get a bad feeling that he's giving people ideas.

Morgan

Separating the art from the artist (i don’t care for Macklemore’s music but I respect the hell out of the way he’s moving)

Frances

(the unintentional boycotting bliss of never caring about/supporting NFL or pop stars. it still means reckoning with counter culture/indie/punk scumbags but at least they don't have that hyperdestructive wealth clout & platform)

I haven't been able to attend synagogue since my daughter's bat mitzvah. She's fine with that. Lol. I appreciate and derive meaning by praying with others, but I can't do that with racists. Kills the vibe, you know? Holidays are fucking lonely this year, but genocide is a hardline. Dave is spot on: seek therapy. The Holocaust isn't even 100 years old. There exist people who NEED to deal with the trauma they legit wrestle with, but there is zero way I can square my religion that prides itself on debate, venerates Maimonides (aka, RAMBAM) who wrote specifically about the proportionally in war. There is zero proportionality, obviously. It all feels inherently NOT about the safety for all. And Mackelmore is fucking right on: NO ONE IS FREE UNTIL WE'RE ALL FREE.

Emily Epstein (unrelated to the bad guy)

P.s. My daughter's bat mitzvah was a few weeks after 10/7. I spoke to an Israeli friend at the time. We both realized the ground had shifted. Bibi was going to 'dial it up to 10.' It's an insane time in Jewish communities. Why the genocide is even a point of debate is something I don't think I will ever understand. Thank you for recognizing Jews as a group of people, but not a monolith. I don't recognize a good percentage of my congregation anymore. How can you pray for peace and be chill with Israel. UGH.

There’s a young comedian, I think his name is Sammy Obied? He asked the audience what he should talk about, and some dick yelled 9/11! And he made it funny but it was very clear he has trauma from all the Muslim hate.

Emily Epstein (unrelated to the bad guy)

P.p.s. Molly Crabapple's book, Here is Where We Live is so good. It looks at the Bundist movement wherein Jews in Europe were NOT on board with Israel. Check it out. Have her on!

Unfortunately for craft, “antisemitism command center” sounds like it’s a command center to create antisemitism.

There are far better protest bands than Macklemore. https://youtu.be/7UAB3yBmOg8?is=8yhAQV3NS7yHvq-E Masters of war by Grandson Part of the Inerta Album. Entire album is a protest against war, big business and fascism. “Autonomous Delivery Robot” is another banger on the album Best line in masters of war “will all the money that you made ever buy back your soul” He also has a heartbreaking song about school shootings called “no thoughts no prayers” sung with a children’s choir that’s guaranteed to make you cry. It's hilarious to imagine Ed Sheeran going out there alone, to empty stadiums, to do spoken word poetry versions of his songs because he doesn't have a band.

Harles Barkley

Is it considered boycotting if I only watch pirated streams?

Karl Duffield

Hi! Long time fan of the dollop and my hometown football team, NE patriots. Grew up on football and watching the pats, probably hundreds of games. Beloved family memories watching playoff games at my aunts and uncles. That said, I’m completely done with everything to do with the pats so long as the Kraft family is the owner. Fuck all of them, especially that vile, Zionist old man. Since 2019, I thought it was crazy he remained the owner and walks a free man. This was an overdue last straw for me. I’m sure I’m the only one in my family who will, but I’ll be encouraging everyone in my family to boycott them as well. Fuck Kraft and fuck the pats. Hope they go 0-17 every season

Karl Duffield

Also, fuck every NFL team (except maybe Greenbay, the only one not owned by shitty old men billionaires or their silver spoon dip shit kids)

Greg C

Libs driving a Tesla sipping a Starbucks driving past small businesses to get home so they can open their Amazon packages: What can we do to stop all this?

SarahWG

Norman Price. An absolute nightmare…..

Cheese

You might like the interview Matt lieb and Daniel maté did with Naomi Klein. They talk a lot about some of the things you mentioned. “Bad Hasbara” episode 53.

Genevieve

Love the Trump tent pole reference ✊🏼

James Mcgaffick

Everyone needs to be listening to Carsie Blanton now! She would be a fun Past Times guest too

Leon Donsky

The night of 9/11 this year in Phoenix called for fireworks. It was like a mini 4th of July. I don’t get it

Nicola Everson

Apropos of nothing, Ed Sheeran has had Covid at least SEVEN TIMES and his wife had cancer during some of that time 🫠

Lauren Bedrosian

I fully hate every song Macklemore has ever done but at least he has a goddamn spine. I truly despise fence-sitters, it’s morally repugnant (especially with clear-cut genocide). Like I’m Armenian and if we did this to the Turks I’d be so fucking pissed. And I know intergenerational trauma, like my great grandfather’s entire family (including his wife and children were exterminated). Plus I’m half black and Irish. Like all of my ancestors got fucked. But a crime unpunished is a crime repeated and tbh fuck Israel, they’ve been committing atrocities for fucking decades. I hope Palestinians get their own operation nemesis going.

loner419

God that entire situation was pathetic from Sheeran. His excuse was that the people who work for him require him for a job and then they all fucking quit, proving that wrong immediately. Ate his own fucking shoe for nothing.

loner419

Also, Gareth, shame to not be able to see you in Syracuse tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing when the next show is and hoping you're doing okay. You might find it funny but we got a notification from the ticket app that said "Get ready to see CANCELLED Gareth Reynolds!" like you're Punished Snake haha.

loner419

If you like that union folk music, hope you've heard of Jesse Welles. Hes a machine right now.

John W

Colts fan here and, yeah, Colts and Pats had a rivalry at one point. But Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Colts, also joined in the Macklemore ban. So I'll join you in saying fuck my team.

John W

Knew GoT was cooked when they had an Ed Sheeran cameo

LadiesLoveLeftism

Lol i just te listened to them on QAnon talking abt JP Sears and gareth had lots of ginger shame

Jillybean

If y’all like metal, you should listen to Bring Me the Horizon - they’ve written songs about climate change, speaking out about Palestine, in response to Donald Trump, etc etc

Lauri

after that mens hockey Olympic video came out, I stopped watching NHL and didnt renew my Wild season tix. Instead I watch PWHL and bought Frost season tix.

Nancy Saint Stacy

Every week I look forward to our Chollops but this is the best one yet.

Robert D. Tingstrom

My girlfriend went to an Ed Sheeran concert a couple of years ago at SoFi stadium in Los Angeles. She paid $350 for a nose bleed seat. $100 for parking. The echo in this huge football stadium was so bad that she couldn’t understand a word the opening rapper or Ed were saying/ singing. On top of that, the woman who convinced her to go drove to the concert and almost got them both killed by an ambulance! 🚑 Ironic, I know!

fromanator

Related to artists stepping up it's been mostly smaller/newer ones with their messaging. Of them I really like Earth to Eve, she has more popular songs but man "Toy Soldier" is massively underrated and prescient coming out in December. As a Minneapolitan who lived through "Operation Metro Surge" it's a very emotional listen for me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3JdRcf1gio

Would love to go back to 2012 and tell myself that not only would Macklemore be relevant in 2026 but actually saying important things that weren’t absolutely cringe AF…she wouldn’t believe it
