I think what they're hinting at is that Bam might have opened the tower for Rachel? He was chosen, but whatever this power is, he wouldn't have had control at that time. So maybe listening to her desires, he accidentally opened the door for her? So she would still be an Irregular, and Bam would be a Regular. But maybe this power of his let's him behave as an Irregular? Not sure
