I just noticed Raiden glancing at Shin when Gretta mentioned 575 names, hinting on Shin not letting go yet. These small details makes me love the show so much.

im sure you guys know by now but in the previous EP Frederica says something along the lines that she can see a person's memories

Kyle Wilber

“People fear what they don’t understand” is how Giad treats the 86 instead of the pure hate of the republic

Jake Thompson

Soldiers are incredibly superstitious, the slightest bit of perceived luck, good or bad, can drastically effect the morale of a unit. The 86, who had a chance to not fight, and instead returned to the battlefield are already seen as loose cannons. On top of that, the units they're attached to have a high attrition rate, lending an air that they don't care about who they're fighting with, as long as they get to destroy the Legion. While it might be seen as a positive to have such strong fighters in your unit, if they have a reputation of being sole survivors or always fighting alone regardless of everyone else, it will engender a strong bit of superstition about them. Sure, Shin will make sure you don't turn into Legion parts, but it'd sure be a lot better if he saved you instead. Despite no longer being discriminated because of San Magnolia's trash policies, now they're being ostracized purely on their ruthless performance on the battlefield.

She can see their past and present. With that information, you should now know why Frederica chose to take a picture of Eugene and Shin together..she knew..

Antoine Cooper

In the last few minutes of episode 13, Frederica says that she has the power to view the past and present of people. I'm pretty sure you guys missed that line so I think that's why you guys may be confused about how she knows things.

just imagining shin having to feel the weight of having to end somebody on the battlefield again after he thought he had finally found peace and resigned himself breaks me. the fact that it was somebody so innocent and kind and how it was literally the first person he bonded with there. and how it was just such an insanely graphic death i feel like there's no way that didn't affect him

Yeah haha it was brought to our attention! We understand it now, thank you for clarifying - Morgan

TheMilkMan

You know what I realised, this show is full of AOT's "Marco", martyrs for our main cast, it was Kaie for Theo and Lena, Daiya for Anju and now Eugene for Shin.

Yeah it makes sense, but it just so sad to see. They all have been through so much at such a young age </3 - Dani

Time to come back to the reality of this show, let's go...waiting for the shepherd episode =)

Reddd Hunter

One thing I really appreciate about anime like this and Fulll Metal Alchemist is the subtle aging. If you go back and look at Shin and look at him now there's a clear difference in their size.
