It’s time

Tunnel Rat

I hope you all enjoyed peak☺️ Now join us in prayer for a season 2.

Ecodude

A fun fact: The name of the song at the end is LilaS (Lena is looking at Shin)

Edrei Z.

No matter how many times I rewatch the show, those last 3 minutes always hit me in the feels.

J

Easily my favorite anime that you guys have reacted to. I hope we get a season 2 someday

zak

Idk if another season coming but in the light novel this is literally just the starting point of the real real plot there is most definitely romance between the 2 as well🗣️

Josh McCann

Truly a beautiful work start to end. Thanks for this, take care girls.

I believe the anime covers volumes 1-3 of the light novels and there is currently 13 volumes out. We do not know if a second seasons is coming. A-1 is a great studio but has a track record of productions issues as they tend to take on more than they are capable of handling. So it could be on the back burner but this show requires a lot of time to animate as it’s a LN and people wouldn’t settle for anything less than the masterpiece that was the first season. (And of course blu-ray sales, merch etc all factor in)

Thamor

I knew you girls would have 20min of suffering with that teasing until they meet :D

BluTsunami

Start to finish, love this story so much. Thank you for sharing the watch with us all, as always! Glad you three enjoyed it!

PyroPhoenix

Lol this is just like a prologue in the light novel. There is plenty more to adapt

PyroPhoenix

Humanity as a whole are typically programmed to blame someone for negative events that they experience. Marcel saw his friend get killed by Shin. From Marcel’s pov it looked like Shin didn’t care about Eugene and just killed him instead of trying to save him still(even though Eugene was clearly going to die lol). When Eugene’s sister found out, she probably wanted to know why it happened, how it happened, etc. Marcel not wanting to be blamed but the sister, decided to tell her that Shin killed Eugene instead of trying to save him. Point is, yes it is pretty bad what Marcel did but disgusting is a bit much. Everyone does things they regret when they are enraged by anger. After the enrage wears off is when you realize what you have been doing. Marcel regrets it which is why he apologized. He isn’t as mentally strong as Shin. Remember Shin has been fighting on the battlefield for years. Marcel had just barely started fighting in the battlefield for like a few weeks or maybe a month or two.

Hey guys I just wanted to give some extra deets from the LN such as how the federacy reacted to the republic. Also this all from vol 1 so it's not spoiler at this point. So first the day catastrophe struck, the Republic founding festival. That years High-school valedictorian went on stage and protested the republics treatment of the 86, most laughed at him, some said nothing and some secretly agreed with him but said nothing, unable to speak up. Then the republic was destroyed, but the Alba citizens didn't repent their sins, they blamed others, believing themselves to be the victims till the end, the Republic citizens were slaughtered by the millions Next the Federacy of Giad shows up with state of the art weaponry and begins pushing the legion out of Republic territory. The Alba welcomed them with applause but unfortunately for them the Federacy somehow knew of the persecutions. The Federacy led an 86 Rescue Operation so they saw the internment camps for themselves. Remember the war has only been going on for 10 years so alot of the federacy people had relatives that lived in the republic before the war, and then they come and find this. Safe to say they were NOT happy The operation commander would go on to tell the President and other high officers of the republic "if you hated color that much, you may as well have dyed your flag white". Things got better tho, the federacy discovered that some Alba was secretly keeping records of the 86 since this man had gone to school with many of them in the past. Unable to bear the guilt any longer he marched to the Frontline and was never seen again. Things did not end there tho, eventually the federacy found journals of inmates detailing the atrocities that had been committed. 86 would come forward with their own stories, videos were found of Republic soldiers crimes against the 86, they found documents of human experimentation and trafficking of infants, and finally they found a great number of skeletons buried beneath the camps and inside the fortress walls. After that there were comments saying that they should abandon the republic but that didn't happen. The federacy said "let those who know shame suffer from it until their dying day. And any pigs incapable of feeling shame don't even warrant attention of acknowledgement" I believe the number of surviving 86 was 10 thousand, I can't remember how many there was before the war but somewhere in the millions. Sorry if this was long. If I got anything wrong please correct me. Hope yall found this interesting!! Glory to the fuckin spearhead squadron!!!

This show really is an hidden gem. I’m always amazed at how amazing the direction is; especially in ep 22 all those show of Lena in the flower field. Almost the entire episode is 2 people talking in front of each other but thanks to the amazing directions it still manages to be so entertaining.

Kyle Wilber

A good call back is before the Morpho mission when Shin is talking to Fred and he refers to himself as “just a reaper” compared to when he tells everyone here “I am the reaper” to show how he is slowly changing and moving forward Also this is very much a prologue to the story as this only covers vol 1-3 of the LN and they are up to volume 12 in print currently but if it’s a one season only anime it ends in a perfect way

ChickenDinners

It's so cool how their hands make an 86 at the end. A lot of people don't catch that.

cyrus gudino

One of the best pieces of fiction I’ve ever experienced ima really miss 86. I’m glad y’all got to experience it too and I really hope that they continue the story

Nakuru

I love it when Kurena's foot was in between Shin and Lena in the picture. She lowkey opposing it lmao.

stu

Great ending, isn't it. It was fun to see how much you guys enjoyed 86 EIGHTY-SIX. Looking forward to see what's next after this.

Jake Thompson

The callback to the first thing we see Eugene do is teach his sister that when someone does something nice for you, you say "thank you" and seeing her with his picture. It hits a whole lot harder at the gravestone when you see how genuinely happy she is about it. Absolutely incredible.

TheMilkMan

Perfect ending, I know the light novel continues after this but this is a great stopping point if they're not making a season 2. Lena finaly meets the people she treasured in person, sad that she only gets to meet 5 of the many many 86 who interacted with her. Now they get to fight side by side, Undertaker, Werewolf, Laughing Fox, Snow Witch, Gunslinger, Cyclops and Bloody Regina.

Jason Huffman

ive read most if not all of the books and it gets so much better from here!

BT

Light Novel Spoiler Warning: --- In the light novel, they are an official couple. It's super cute how they interact with one another. The author had a great time spending lots of time with the new couple. Shin is trying to buy a gift for her, and Lena is trying to ensure that Shin is only interested in her. Crossing my fingers for Season 2 one day.

Eric19865

when you find out it this only covered 3/13 light novels...

Yellow_hat_gnome

I subscribed the moment i found out you guys were reacting to this show… just binged the whole thing… You guys were awesome as always! Thank you! And this show is a masterpiece! Definitely top 5 for me too.

Whyyeezus

One of the most satisfying anime "endings", still hoping for a season 2 someday.

Same although I like to leave it here, continuing just means they have time for someone to die and I don't wanna see anymore deaths. We've suffered enough
