We check out some scenes from the dub in our end discussion! Click the youtube link if that interests you! -Sam

Nolan L Thomas

The chase scene was one the most dynamic, hype and visual stunning sequences I’ve seen in a anime recently. So damn cool. This series is not only living up to the expectations, but succeeding them.

Nolan L Thomas

This series did a quick and efficient job on establishing the lovely bond between Momo and Ken. They are so sweet and endearing.

Ivan

Hyaku-kiro Baba (Turbo Granny). Its modern spooky story, not really some old folklore. Stories like if you Drive tooo fast She will dash right next to you and knock on your window, and when you see her, you will get jumped scared on you will crash. Also, to add to Morgan clue about weenies being snatch. To protect. Turbo granny actually popped trough the phone To save Momo from Aliens in episode one.

Ivan

Studio Saru really busting all the moves on this one.

thereactpack

We talked about her "saving" momo episode 1 off-screen. 😭 We love turbo granny <3 -Sam

Lyrical Kell of Music

It’s a pretty water tight theory, but people think after turbo granny cursed Ken and came through the phone was because she could sense that momo was about to be sexually assaulted and came through to stop it. It’s a nice thought One of my thoughts adding on to this is that originally granny was a consoling sprit, helping others who did a brutal death, being used and killed by scum of society, however since the spirits of those people were unable to pass one their natural hatred for what was done to them slowly corrupted granny, she still did her duty in a way but was way more aggressive to innocent people

Frxnks

so it seems turbo granny protected abused girls, so it makes sense why she saved momo in the first episode against the aliens

DnWs

Turbo Granny’s backstory is tragic. She was protecting the spirits of young women and girls who were sexually abused in life, hence why she would go round taking the weenies of any males she won a race against

thereactpack

Yes! After learning more about her, we started piecing together why she did the things she did! -Morgan

I know they can't show everything but in the manga turbo granny was a protector for sexual assassault and even then its doesnt into a lot of detail . A lot of this involves some history . In japan during the 70s ,80s and 90s . There were something called bosozoku or japanese youth gangs who many time rode motorcycles . This was post world War 2 japan and young gang membership was on the rise. Add onto a minor couldn't be sent to criminal court until they changed it in the 2000s they basically went unchecked . Note that this change happend because a bunch of high profile sexual assault and muder cases one being junko furuta one of the most disgusting cases I have ever seen happened. So it makes sense why she would be racing in tunnels and place motorcycle gangs would frequent .

thereactpack

That case is absolutely heartbreaking. I think about it often 😔 -Sam

Yep . This anime tackles a lot of problems in japan that may be hard to understand if you don't know the time period and history of japan

mundanelotus

The studio did an amazing adapting that race scene. Can't wait for you guys to see the rest of the season

Caamm

Momo's VA has done absolutely incredible so far, she's sorta newer as well

A name

someone commented on a different video that apparently sayonara is a type of goodbye that means they dont intend on seeing you again/for a long time so thats why saying it didnt feel right for either of them

Ecodude

yes, Sayonara is more "permanent" as a good bye or as you said, if you don't expect to see the other person for a long time. Also is more polite so they both were expecting a more "see you tomorrow" kinda vibe after all they went through.

TigerFM

Turbo Granny is a rumoured spirit in the first episode of Mob also in a tunnel. It turns out to be a big scary mountain spirit but ends with Mob being crushed when an old lady jogger easily out runs him.
