This episode makes me kick my feet every time! Hachiman & Yukino were definitely made for each other

This isn’t the first time this season Hachiman panics because he’s unable to open the club door. These were Hachiman’s thoughts from the LN the first time he ever saw Yukino btw “ there was a girl there, reading a book in the slanting rays of the setting sun. The scene was so picturesque that I imagined that even after the end of the world she would still be sitting there, just like that. The moment I saw her, my body and mind both froze. I was entranced.” He has always equated that club room with getting to see Yukino, so the times he can’t open that door he freaks out. He wasn’t kidding when he said he can’t bare being separated from her lol

Yukino in the first episode: “I don’t like his rotten eyes.” Yukino in the last episode: “They’re perfectly rotten,” she says with a smile while looking at the photo. And about him not saying “I love you” back, in the previous episode Hachiman basically offered his life to her. And when he confessed, he said she didn’t need to give an answer right away—so I think she also told him she loves him without expecting him to say it immediately. She already knows how he is.

Yeah, like Sam said at the end, the thing with the teacher was probably meant for those who had a soft spot for her. As far as I know, the LN explores a lot of romantic angles, so maybe it was a nod to those possible endings. Aside from that, Hikki and Hiratsuka’s relationship can be a bit odd at times, but it’s also one of the most important in the series, especially for Hikki. She’s the only adult who truly guides him from the start, and their conversations go deeper than with anyone else. For me, it feels more like a symbolic mentor relationship—someone he respects deeply but who’s also kinda cute, lol.

Teenage drama overload, Hikki's endless monologues, Yui crying every five minutes, and adults way too invested in teenage problems, and somehow, it’s still one of the best anime romcoms out there.

I wasn’t feeling the show at first but all the characters really grew on me, I was confused half the time but a good time was still had lol

The show plays up the Hiratsuka x Hachiman thing a bit as a joke/ship tease. In reality, they have just become very close over the last year, akin to an older sister/little brother dynamic. I really like that scene in the event hall. Hachiman stands up without her, meaning that he doesn't need her guidance as much anymore but then he still took her hand, showing that he is going to stay connected to her, but this time not as teacher and student but as more equal friends. He also only say "sayonara Sensei" even though he usually calls her "Hiratsuka-Sensei" which to me means that he is saying goodbye to his teacher and not to her as a whole. They will stay friends for a long, long time.

i never got the "adults too invested in teenage problems". Thats just categorically untrue. There is two adults who are invested and both have perfectly understandable, justifies reasons to be invested. Hiratsuka is their teacher, guidance councilor and club advisor so it is perfectly understandable why she would be there to help guide them. And Haruno is Yukino's sister and she tries to help in the only way she know Yukino would be receptive to. Because lord knows, Yukino would not accept any straight forward, good faith advice from Haruno.

Thx for the reactions... been like a solid year since I last rewatch the series. Also thx for making it a 3 ep per week release, actually goated. I went on a trip to korea 2 weeks ago and I tried looking for figurine stores that sells oregairu merchs. No expectations on finding one, but I found a glass display case of one of the store clerks and he was a true oregiaru fan. Had a lot of figurines and merchs of oregairu, too bad they weren't for sale.
