Now, a few things: yes, I have a fan art character of Classroom of the Elite, if anyone was curious. Second, Classroom of the Elite anime or CotE is based on the light novel and not the manga. There's a LOT of info presented at a time, and all the characters introduced are important to the story; I wish the crew luck with remembering them all. Third, the fanservice in the light novel is kept at a minimum with a few exceptions here and there; the animation studio is adding all that to attract viewership. The genre is a psychological slice of life series with a few action moments, as you saw in this episode. Lastly, the character designs for this series are amongst my favorites, especially the eyes. Mario Prime Plays

This is anime is pretty fun, kind of like a noir mystery set in a teenage classroom. It also gets pretty silly at times like a soap drama too as you can tell from these two episodes. Getting so much nostalgia from when this was first released too and where I was in that point in time lol. You guys will definitely enjoy this one if you like twists and turns at every corner.

This anime is alright. I think some people are getting a bit overzealous because they're burnt out on all the edgy, gooner-bait-type shows. That said, I’m not calling this one gooner-bait myself, just commenting on what others are saying. Honestly, it's not even that lewd. It just leans into the usual hot-girl pandering aimed at teenage boys. Personally, I’d love to see more actually great anime again, stuff like Madoka Magica or A Place Further Than the Universe. Shows I know you three would genuinely enjoy if you gave them a shot. But I get it. The current crowd that's been cultivated clearly has its preferences. Hot girls and edge. And just to be clear, I’m not knocking that. You can absolutely have an edgy show with hot girls and still make it great. There’s nothing wrong with attractive characters or some edge. Honestly, that’s like 80% of anime. Still, it’s worth pointing out that some really good stuff is being overlooked. But hey, the poll won, so gotta respect the results.

Just gotta let people watch what they wanna watch and for the people who don't care for this they can just ignore these videos all together instead of crying about it ( not directed at you but just a general statement). What is with some of the comments here? Didn't this series won a poll? People be complaining about how lewd/edgy it is?! Literally all anime have some form of fan service and yet people are upset about COTE's fan service?. The edgy main character is true.. yet he is pretty well written in LNs (Sadly the anime cuts off some LN scenes so it doesn't show some of the MC's growth/character interactions). Rather than complaining about it from the first 2 episodes, let the girls react & judge the show for themselves, it won the poll after all. Even I wanted Steins Gate to win one of the Polls, yet it's still not getting enough votes and I am waiting patiently instead of complaining about what won the Poll!

Yeah, just to clarify since I know your comment wasn’t directed at me, I’m not one of the people calling it gooner-bait. I was referring to the folks saying that in the comments. I think the show has hot girls and a bit of ecchi, but there’s nothing wrong with that. My comment was actually pretty similar to yours. I was responding to what others were saying and trying to explain why some people might be getting a little overzealous. There’s been some similar anime lately, and I think some people are just looking for something different. I’m one of them. Still, I agree that ranting under every new anime is a bit much. And for context, I actually don't dislike Classroom of the Elite. I gave it an 8 on MAL and think the light novel is solid.

The girls have already talked about how they don’t care for the cringy fanservice in anime, especially in the high school setting. They tolerate it at best and yet people keep voting for these kinds of shows. This show especially didn’t even win the poll because it’s considered good but because people wanted OP to lose since they thought it would be a long term investment. I’m not one to complain about what they react to but the fatigue is real. The polls have great options including classics but recently a certain type of show has been dominating and tbh it’s not enjoyable for me to watch them cringe or be uncomfortable. I respect the end results usually and I end up enjoying some shows regardless of fanservice but I think some of the complaints are valid even if they seem whiny.

People here have chosen to directly support the creator because they care, and they come here to enjoy that connection in a positive environment. Of course, differing opinions are valid, but there’s also value in recognizing the space we’re in. Just like you wouldn’t pick a fight at a family gathering, it’s worth considering whether this is the right time and place.
