the way "hikaru" was so scared to face yoshiki the next day he skipped school but he still put on his uniform to try and be brave ughh i feel so maternal towards him

The way the creator can simultaneously endure and creep out the audience with Yoshiki and Hikaru's relationship very good writing on their part. This level of unease and creepiness is better than some live action horror.

Definitely a strange situation if nonuki sees yoshki as a parental figure of sorts but then also has to deal with whatever repressed feelings hikaru had for him. Gonna have to put him down eventually though.
