Yeah i get what the author is going for kinda but i just couldn’t get past the “EEK A GUY!? SO SCARY!!” Thing every couple scenes everybody is so extra its funny but also a turn off after a point everything else about it seemed cool though

The show aired earlier this year in Japan. Netflix had the distribution rights here in the US but chose not to release it during the JP airing... typical Netflix BS. There's enough manga material for 3 seasons locked but, at the pacing and new chapters, probably a 4th. Anime adaptation pacing was good/decent I thought

Finally! Have been waiting for this. It makes sense you started this now, since with 2 episodes a week it seems by the time the finale airs globally you would just finish ep 11-12 then can do episode 13 the following week.

There's also this odd Japanese stereotype of hair dyed blond = delinquent. There was a lady on Love is Blind: Japan who said that she was afraid that the person she matched with - whom she had had many conversations and exchanged love notes with before seeing one another - was going to hit her pretty much solely because she saw that he had blond hair. Also, manga exaggerates this type up thing to ridiculous extremes, like the delinquent pick-up artist archetype in E01 that are going to hit a women for no reason other than to show they are bad and to allow the MC act like a hero.

Honestly, I found the anime harder to enjoy than the manga. At least you can speed read the particularly cringe scenes in the manga version.

I wouldn’t really categorize this series as a romcom with all its melodramatic elements. I’m definitely curious to see your reactions to this because I couldn’t get into it and dropped it halfway through. I’ve seen a lot of love for this series but I really didn’t get it the first time around so I might feel differently on a rewatch.

The reason manga readers loved this is cuz it drops the typical romcom stuff and it's a more healthy relationship and mature story (comparitively to a lot of anime) also intro is done by the same dude who did jjk season 2 part 1 intro

Yeah. I made it 3 episodes in on this one as it was airing and people were gushing over it... And i just did not see the appeal. It just felt very bland and generic. Like the author just picked all the most cliche inoffensive shoujo tropes at every turn. but maybe I'll give it another go as a watch along.
