In DnD, devils are natives of the Infernus(Hell), while demons come from the Abyss. These are two completely different planes, and devils and demons are entirely different kinds of beings. In fact, they’re locked in an endless war against each other. Devils are Lawful Evil. That means they follow strict rules and hierarchies. That said, they're still evil, just very methodical ones. The phrase “devil’s advocate” fits perfectly. Devils love contracts and they love loopholes even more. They will screw you over anytime while technically staying fair. They offer power to humans, but it always comes with strings attached. Demons, on the other hand, are Chaotic Evil. They hate rules. They hate goodness. They hate humans, devils, angels, other demons, and even themselves. Pure hatred and destruction. Tieflings are descendants of humans and outsiders. Any outsider. You can have infernal tieflings (with devil ancestry), abyssal tieflings (with demon ancestry), and many other variations depending on which plane their bloodline comes from. In Mighty Nein, Molly is a mix of human and devil, and Jester’s outsider blood comes from something else.

The group is slowly but steadily coming together. Molly’s speech was A plus touching. While I always liked Nott, but this episode made love her character way more. Seeing her care and concern for children just made her all the more endearing. She is the mom of the group.

There are tieflings but there are also aasimar. Tieflings have infernal ancestry and aasimar have celestial ancestry. That's a pretty spot on description of devils and demons. I like to add that devils have 3 priorities: recruiting mortals into the Hells, killing every demon they encounter (because of that Blood War), and genocide-level office politics. The Abyss is the single worst place for a mortal to visit in the Multiverse, because demons (being chaotic evil), will either just kill any visitors outright or even worse, press-gang them to join the Blood War.

The Devil Toad is an original monster created for this campaign. It is Infernal in nature and originated from the Nine Hells, the Lawful Evil outer planes ruled by devils. It was probably trying to return to its native plane of existence.

Your description of tieflings is slightly off. It's not ANY outsider - its specifically FIENDISH outsiders (devils, demons, other fiends, etc.). Any other kind of outsider would be a different kind of planetouched race, like those connected to celestials are Aasimar, connected to genies are Genasi, etc.

Just a fun little fact left out of the story they skipped for time. The other two with Bren the night his house burned, they were from the same area as Caleb originally, that’s why they were in the wagon that day, they had also just been scouted. So when they went back years later, the other two had to kill their families as well, and they did it before Bren. I don’t remember how the black dude did it, but I’m pretty sure the blondie poisoned her parents. They were all in agreement they would kill their families together, or at least be there supporting each other. Bren went last and he was the only one that broke down afterwards. Fun fact for good vibes 😁
