This episode is amazing, no?

Black_Star

Cool little Easter egg when you hear hiriluk whistling and chopper humming, they where both singing choppers theme song

Nolan L Thomas

Bruh, Chopper’s story is award winning type of sadness. My eyes were waterfalls the whole episode.

Hannibal Ascencio

Wow, what a reaction! If you cried that much over the live-action, I can't even imagine what'll happen when you watch the anime.

Mario Prime Plays

Chopper in the anime was a little ugly at first lol. Then he got cuter as the animation got better, and then in flashbacks they kept the cute version. The live action adapts the newer cute version. Some anime/manga fans, myself included, would have liked if Chopper was a bit uglier, but I understand they want to sell toys and it doesn’t ruin the story in any way so I don’t mind.

The picture of the bear in the end credits scene was something only in the anime. It's called a hiking bear. Basically just a bear that walks around the mountain with a walking stick. It was just a silly gag in the show lol

Nolan L Thomas

I think the goofy and wackiness is a part of the charm of One Piece. I really dig it.

HJB

lol...Over 20 years later and Choppers story just hits me like a truck...everytime...manga, anime and now this. Sometimes I just hate Oda lol.

Duffy the Nar Slayer

The cure-all mushroom that people on the island are rumored to have seen was actually the devil fruit Chopper ate. It's called the human-human fruit and gives whatever creature eats it human intelligence, speech, and the ability to shift between the three forms. It's a devil fruit shaped like a mushroom to discourage humans from eating it. If a human eats it, they won't gain any powers; they'll just lose their ability to swim. It's a devil fruit specifically meant for animals or non-human life forms.

mywrld

i cried just as much as the anime, they did it perfectly.

Merv0309

Apparently the initial design for Chopper in the live action was going to be a more realistic version. It was Oda who wanted to make him cuter, mission accomplished if you ask me haha.

John A

Devastating episode but amazing at the same time! Respect to the Doc!

Sherman Tibayan

You noticed that the witch doctor Kureha was wearing a shirt with cherry blossoms. It looked like her shirts in the flashback had them and were cherry blossom colored too. They’re both old enough to have run into each other before when Hiriluk was looking for a cure

KTRB7

When Chopper initially had no idea what he did and why he was being kicked out, that hurt like hell to watch.

Mr_re04

the cherry blossom has nothing to do with miss all sunday.

KTRB7

If all the crying from this episode made you dehydrated , nothing some G-fuel can't fix! Use code for 20% off. :D

Ricky Pham

It’s other way around lol he looked way better and cuter but now he just looks like a toy

OnePieceLover321

Crazy how oda's story transcends medium. It doesn't matter if it's live action manga or anime. You're missing out a lot if you're not giving one piece story a shot in life

SomeoneElse

This episode is so good. It's emotional af in the anime too. The bear on the map at the end of the episode was a Hiking Bear, a detail that was cut from the live action lol. Drum Island is a bit more fleshed out in the anime and the messages are a bit more clear, but this was still really good. I love this episode and reactions to it will never get old

ItsReal EightySix

The React Pack can never meet Chopper in real life. The Earth will drown from they’re tears of joy 😩 lol

Space Crow

Would you believe me if i said there are probably around 10 other backstories on the same level as choppers in one piece. For me choppers backstories is probably top 3 or 5 but that just shows how well oda's storytelling is, Its devastating and yet beautiful.

John

Yo, good luck to which ever one of y’all that has to edit this episode for youtube 🤧😭 gonna be a mess all over again!

Daniel Richardson

To answer yalls questions about the devil fruits real quick (its not a spoiler, just context), there is only one copy of each version of a devil fruit in the world, so they are unique there are no duplicates. Even more than that, though, is that if a person with a devil fruit dies, then their devil fruit can now appear again in the world somewhere! So there's only one copy of any particular devil fruit, but there's ALWAYS one copy of it once it's known to exist. Hope that helps!

Great reaction girls your tears made me tear up as well. Fun fact the voice actress that did the expression for chopper is her face

Bell Arclide

Welcome to Eiichiro "Twist the Kinfe" Oda's finest work.

Tyson_SIX85

This isnt completely true. At least the last part about a human not gaining anything and it being specifically for non human or animals. Oda has addressed this in a sbs before but i wont say it here cause its kind of spoilery. Even you naming the df is kind of spoilery too but its cool just wanna clear up that the last part of what you said is wrong 👍

Tyson_SIX85

Another big reason for this is cause Oda found out that the voice for chopper was cute but the design didnt really match the cute voice so he changed the design so that cute chopper could fit the cute voice rather than ugly chopper with cute voice. To be clear im not saying he finds the original voice actress cute but the voice she used for chopper 😊

Duffy the Nar Slayer

The Nar .... Go on. You're welcome to correct whatever I got wrong. You won't be spoiling anything the fruit was addressed in the LA. In fact, it's weird that they didn't name it in the show.

guisseppe acosta

im sure that someone in the comments told you already, but this speech and monologue is among one of the most memorable and iconic in this series, full of iconic and impacful moments!!! i remember the first time i heard this speech!! i cried and those words will always be with me!! its truly wonderful that this moment is share with so many others now!!

Mr. Smee

There are snow creatures on Drum Island. One of them is a Hiking Bear which was on the bottom right of the map at the start of the end credits, the second are giant vicious snow rabbits called Lapahns, there are also snow birds, and reindeer. The live action left them out save for the stuffed and mounted Lapahns in the tavern and Chopper.
