They're not deformities they're war wounds and scars from his countless battles. It shows his immense amount of experience in combat. It's basically the same as an old animal with a bunch of scars, it shows how much you've endured.

My guess is that Eve is pregnant. There's always the trope that when a super powered women gets pregnant it messes up her powers.

I think a lot of people are falling back on the normal tropes we usually get in comic book/superhero storytelling. In reality it would do so much damage to Debbie’s character if they just wrote her as a fool who constantly gets fooled by different men and a caretaker for mark and Oliver. I think she contains many more multitudes than that and I think the writers have displayed that. She’s too smart to fall for the same shit twice. And also it’d be more compelling if Nolan just shows up and they are in a happy relationship. If Paul is a spy it could easily lead her back to Nolan and that would be a poor choice by the writers. IMO
