I might be wrong but in the flashback, the Daemon they mentioned isn’t the one from house of the dragon since it’s a few generations after and he’s calle blackfyre, so technically no spoilers for HOD lol

This takes place almost 100 years after House of the Dragon. There were other Daemons besides the one from the show. This war is relatively recent in their time, and there were also more conflicts after the Dance of the Dragons. The story is set during the era of the Blackfyre Rebellions. There's no spoiler for the series here; however, the book does contain some spoilers, in case you're planning to read it.

Just a little factoid George R.R. Martin said that Prince Baelor "Breakspear" was a stand in for John F Kennedy. A man who he admired and felt was doing great things until he was assassinated. Like many his killing affected him deeply and felt that with all the killings (JFK Martin Luther King, RFK} good things were taken away from us too soon.

This series is three novellas. This season was the first one. The next two seasons will be the next two, and George gave outlines for I believe 12 more. They want the actor for Egg to age as the series goes on

Knight of seven Kingdom is just well written, Director of the show, Fight Choreographer clothes designer (and armour) made huge impact to bring this story to life. (Choice of actors is banging too). After long time they REALLY show why you need armour. Its very realistic gut wrenching feeling when you watch that fight. PS I rate this show extremely high. Everything done right. CYA in Spain! The show runners are wanting to make 10-12 season of this show. Season 2 & 3 will cover the next two novellas and George is still planning on writing books covering their adventures

Just another factoid for the ladies. This story is a novella in George R.R. Martin's The Tales of Dunk and Egg. This Novella is called "The Hedge Knight". There are three books in the series so far but George wants to do twelve. Four of the ones that have not come out yet actually have much of the story pretty far along the way. The second novella is called "The Sworn Sword" and is filming this year.

The fight/action choreography really made the audience experience what being in a battle like this would feel like. Very chaotic and claustrophobic. Great work by the creators for that production.

The Daemon they spoke of was Daemon Blackfyre. Not Daemon Targaryan. Blackfyre is the bastard names given to house targaryan bastards. Its like the targaryan version of "Snow." Blackfyre rebellions are their own story. Hopefully adapted someday. Maekar and Balor played a big part in that

I do think a refresher on some of the names of people, places and things would benefit the reacts. You guys normally look up after an episode a name or two that was forgotten so I'm not sure why it didn't happen throughout this series. A lot of the discussions starting from a place where the information was wrong or you guys didn't catch something said in the show was distracting and took up a lot of it.

Maeker is honestly a good dude. He just has annoyed dad energy but isnt cruel or evil. Just tired and unappreciated but still loved his brother. The mace was in the chaos of battle when he was trying to get to his son so he didnt even know he swung on Baelor.

Since they never mentioned it in the show, this generation of the Targeryans actually has the least amount of incest. None of the brothers [Bealor, Aerys, Rhaegel and Meakar] married into the family. All of them married into Stormland and Dornish houses to try and make peace since Dorne just joined the Seven Kingdoms not long ago. All of their kids also went on to marry outside of the family, so the crazy from Aerion is not necessarily from Incest like most people believe.

Ha when Sam says "he has no combat experience, except fistfights" it kind of presages how the fight will go and how Dunk will win. In the novella, the fight is a lot shorter, once Dunk gets Aerion on the ground it reads "he could vanquish Ser Duncan the Tall, but not Dunk of Flea Bottom." Just one of many ways the pristine image of knighthood (in this case, knightly battle) is contrasted with the more grimy reality.
