I’m so glad Sam brought up the cliff side moment from season 1. It is def a well recognized theory! The slow motion shot of her teardrop falling down the cliff as she stood at the edge was the “suggestion” there. I love this ep so much. I’ve always loved it, but especially revisiting it as an adult is so special because of how relatable it’s become 🥲. The realism is insane. Having to come to terms with something that happened and how it’s changed who you are forever, what the journey of that looks like, and struggling to watch your loved ones move on in life while you feel stuck, not even knowing who would understand if you try to explain. What a beautiful show, and what a beautiful character Korra is ❤️‍🩹

I still dont know why people hate on Korra so much. The only thing I can really think of is her hot-headedness and naivete in the first half of S2, in opening the first portal. I've seen people blame her for losing connection with the past Avatars, but again, how could she have really prevented that in that moment? I don't think Aang could have prevented that either. It's natural to compare Korra to Aang who set the standard and who we knew first. But it's unfair to not give credit for Korra for everything she's done as well.

i loveeee how two of the first episodes yall remember from s1 is the waterbending scroll and the one with haru. I’ve always loved and appreciated how amazing those episodes were especially with Katara being the forefront of them. She always gets sm hate yet she’s such an amazing symbol of empowerment and bravery 🤍

When the creators of ATLA decided to make this series, they were aware of how popular Zuko was as a character. So they basically made a female version of him for LOK. It would be a disservice to call her a gender swapped Zuko because Korra is very much her own character, but many of her traits mirror Zuko's. When Korra Alone was written, they basically showed their hand. The hot temper, the impetuous nature, the swagger of seasons 1 and 2 Korra was very much inspired by Zuko's early episodes. So it's fitting that just like Zuko, she had to go into "exile" to find herself. The bruise under her left eye even mirrors Zuko's scar.
