Positive note for animals. After teritory was left alone over 30 next years wildlife florished, mutation did happen (no 2 heads and shit). But Animals did adapt and it turned out biggest problem for them were humans. Now we have high number foxes, wolves and other animals that had very low numbers during human occupancy. There we also have wild dogs that survived the cleansing.

Miners have finished there job . It mentioned that in the previous episode.

Glad something positive came from this horrific situation.

Bro, this episode was very rough watch. I hate seeing innocent women, children and animals harmed. The camera makes in feel like your right there with the characters experiencing the horror.

Ivan

Yeah, meltdown didn't happen from my knowledge and they sent all these miners for "nothing". 40% is just to big of number to be ignored

Yep it never actually needed to be built but it had to be done just in case

I’m liking Boris as a character, 100% valid crashout from him about the robot . The Central Committee is really holding them back from fixing the mess; it’s really frustrating, they would rather cover it up and downplay the scale of the disaster. About the robot, I did a quick search and found out that no robot was going to handle 15,000 roentgens in 1986 so the Joker being brought in and not working was a huge waste of time anyway like Morgan said.

It always shocks me how few Americans know anything about Chernobyl, it was the worst nuclear disaster on the planet and it scarred into the entire European political and safety mindset when it comes to nuclear power. People didn't let their kids outside for a time after the event even in the UK which is pretty far away. It just boggles my mind that it didn't have a similar effect, even if a smaller effect in the US.

Valery mentioned that 2 minutes would cut your life in half and 3 would kill you in months; the max 90 secs that the workers had still is 30 secs less, probably in an attempt to avoid any of the workers actually getting to the 2 minute mark - how much that difference actually reduces the long term effects is of course pretty difficult to tell... I'm kinda wondering about those 800 Rubles they each supposedly got - looking at an inflation calculator, there was apparently such insane inflation happening that 800 Rubles would be like 70k Dollars/Euros in today's money, which makes me wonder if all of those 3828 men actually got that much money and how much it helped them/their families...

Even today there is an organization that operates with a purpose of caring for the dogs that are at Chernobyl (Clean Futures Fund). Food, vaccines, sterilization, etc. Most wildlife are genetically distinct from those outside the zone, and have shortened lifespans. Diseases are more rampant there, especially rabies.

have you seen Andor (the starwars show?) I'm not the biggest starwars guy but I LOVED the actor Stellan Skarsgård -who plays Boris in this- his performance in Andor was pretty good
