always thought it was wild that Saber and Lancer got along since Saber is English and Lancer being Irish. You'd think they would despise each other since its been non stop bickering and fights between the 2 island nations for hundreds of years.

Nolan L Thomas

That is interesting info. Perhaps that's why they do.

Narutoanime16

I was not aware of that info of that time period

Tim

Not to get political but to this day there are politicians in the english parliament that make out that irish people are "lesser". Thank god its gotten better over the last 20 or so years but the sentiment still somewhat exists. And dont get me started on the famine when the english started stopping aid from other countries in 1845 . And the fact our language is basically dead because of the colonisation back in the day (although with the way its taught in our schools now its kinda our own fault its a dying language.) ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I could rant for hours about this but no one cares lol

I am no expert on Irish mythology or anything but here's roughly how I understand it: Diarmuid was a knight of the Fianna, and his lord (or the leader of the Fianna?) had a fiancee who fell in love with Diarmuid because of his charming curse. Diarmuid was deemed a traiotr and the two ran away together. At some point they were given an official pardon, but it probably was a ruse by his lord to lure Diarmuid into a trap, where he met his death. Diarmuid seems to have this immense guilt over his failure both as a knight and as a lover, and this guilt is what drives him.

I took the Lancer memories as he was having an affair with the princess, the dad said he would allow their marriage as a trap to kill lancer cause he found out about them dating in secret & planning to runaway from the arranged marriage. & all of the Seevants have to do what their masters say just it’s their personalities that make it seem like they can do whatever when they really can’t in this Grail war

I love Saber and Iris and Rider and Waver because they feel like friends who just genuinely care about each other.

Irisviel is beautiful both in and outside.

KTRB7

Sola: "By this command spell, Lancer, I order you to lay down some pipe."

KTRB7

Turns out Lancer has a hidden third Noble Phantasm spear that Sola really wants to use.

The scene with Waver finding the bodies of the children was pure nightmare fuel. I would threw up too. The legend of Diarmuid Ua Duibhne is very fascinating, but that’s Irish mythology for you.

Diarmuid's hesitation stems from his strict code of chivalry. And Diarmuid as you ladies surmised was a knight of Fianna who was deemed a traitor after "charming" his fiancee. They ran away against his own will as he wanted to remain loyal to his lord. This probably led to his own demise.

Dani nailed it when she called them eldritch horrors because they literally are. Caster’s powers are a direct reference to HP Lovecraft and the Cthulhu mythos, where the term eldritch originates from.

The swords Kirei uses are called black keys. The only thing needs to carry around is the hilt of each sword (the little red handles), and he keeps them under his priest uniform, so he can carry a lot of them around at all times. He uses magecraft to make the blades appear.

I don't know how much the show will make explicit Diarmuid's story but of what they did show there are some misreadings. Gráinne's father is a king. Fionn Mac Cumhail (you might have seen this anglicised as Finn Mac Cool before) is the second greatest hero in Irish myth. Gráinne's father married her off to Fionn but by this time Fionn was a much older guy and well past it but he still leads The Fiannawhich is a legendary order of knights. Diarmuid is a part of that order. It's Fionn who is then saying "I forgive you, guys. Come back". How it ends in the myth I won't comment on before seeing what the show does.
