I feel like the madame wanted mizu to kill kinuyo instead of just help her escape because the only way she could keep her promise of not letting another man ever touch her again was by death :(( So sad to get a look into these women’s minds and see how their autonomy is at such a minimum that death is a more peaceful option. Just the fact that they’re ok with death because they’re 100% sure nothing would ever change for them. Broke my heart 💔 I’m rooting for akemi and mizu, let’s go girls!!

Ivan

This is very gritty show. And you really feel the weight of people lives and cards that have been dealt to them.

Ivan

Gotta say Ringo is great apprentice. He was offered to go out and have fun in town but he stick around to help out!

Nolan L Thomas

The world very cruel and unfair. Especially for the haves and have nots.

2026-11-02 04:00 Its grittiness is a strong appeal of the series, the bright and colorful visuals probably help standout more.

Taking grandiose delusions to the maximum level.

Kinuyo's story is so very tragic. Like y'all was Mizu would get her out and take her somewhere so she could be at peace but fate was a lot more cruler. On a more upbeat note, Madame Kaji is played by Ming-Na Wen who also played Mulan in the Disney animated film.

It's very awesome Sam sees the parallels between Maki and Mizu. It lovely when someone shares your vision. Watching Akemi maneuver with the shrewdness is beautiful. That lady is very savvy.

Ivan

After this I might start again watching Castlevania again. That show is really gritty 😂

Avnen

Hope that cough clears out real soon Morgan! This episode was tragic from start to finish but the plot is getting interesting!

Kinuyo's death leaves so many unanswerable questions, Why did she shake her head to Mizu, either she didn't understand, or she decide she wanted to live. I don't think she wanted Mizu to kill her either way. I've also wondered about Madame Kaji, as she seems a little duplicitous with the way she treats the other girls, we really only here one side of a story involving a mute girl.

Dune

Maya erskine has a show called pen15 and shes one half of the two main characters. It's the only thing I know her from.

Episode 5 is both insane and brilliant. I don't know if you guys are ready...
