After this, you guys can react to "Weathering With You". Same director and writer and taki and mitsuha make a cameo appearance in this movie.

A silent Voice next?

Dooly

This was hard to watch. I thought you’d be much quicker to pick up on what was happening. I suppose maybe you haven’t been familiarized with certain anime tropes.

I absolutely love this movie and couldn't be happier I'm a Patreon supporter of you two. There's a live action adaptation being made by J. J. Abram's company. As much as this movie is like near perfect I actually wouldn't mind if the live action version did something different. Like I think they were very close to on to something had the story been Mitsuha and Taki just becoming deeply connected friends and the relationship aspect of it had been Mitsuha and Okudera. So a few suggestions to include on future polls that I'd put up on the same level as this one: A Silent Voice Wolf Children When Marnie Was There The Girl Who Leapt Through Time For live action suggestions definitely would recommend About Time, The Big Sick, Colossal, and Ingrid Goes West. These are all really good smaller movies that are criminally underseen that could get you in the feels as well. Anyway that was fun. Love this movie. Really enjoy your channel as well.

The director/writer, Makoto Shinkai, is a master of blending mudane life animation and beautiful backgrounds. Taki and Mitsuha met at the mountain after saying "kataware-doki" ,meaning twilight, which was explained at the start as a time when someone might encounter something not human. Also, the teacher explaining is one of the leads from the director's previous movie, The Garden of Words. Taki and Mitsuha also make cameo appearances in his next work, Weathering with You (before reuniting). His movies come first and then they get adapted into manga and novel with some epilogue details. In the Weathering with You Novel epilogue, it is mentioned that Taki's grandmother has a picture of her grandson's wedding and she also has a braided cord bracelet.
