Check out the youtube version to watch our reaction to the 4kids rap! lollll -Sam

Joshi

Extra love the pack for this ❤️

Jack SV

You know I was looking forward to this one since you guys are not familiar with the anime or manga so your perspective about the history and characters should be unbiased or untainted by those things. Definitely should be an interesting ride with you guys.

Mojira

After seeing this. I kind of hope that you can do some manga reads (any manga). The original contents are usually more flushed out, emotional, and clear. LA is a really poor adaptation of the original source, If you find the series interesting maybe consider the source material as well.

Samuel Romeo

Honestly it's not you guys fault. But compared to the depth of the anime and emotions you could feel the live action doesn't scratch that. I know Oda approved it but the anime hits differently. However it'S JUST INSANELY ENTIRELY TOO LONG LOL. Like for example Zoro in the anime is more bad ass and cooler. This zoro is alirght in the live action but can't even hold candle to the zoro in the anime. I wish I could tell you view the anime but 1000 plus episodes Is just insane lol. But if you reallly truly want to feel the feel people talk about from once piece and why it's so great you gotta watch the anime.

Nolan L Thomas

I know about 10% of One Piece so this is a new experience for me as well. Can’t wait to watch this with y’all.

Drip Drip Drop

I tried liking the live action, couldn't get over the changes they made from the anime and the bad acting really turned me off. Idk maybe you guys will enjoy it knowing nothing about the anime.

Cameron Fuller

I feel like y’all reacting to the openings might make it better for y’all to get the feel for the characters, especially since none of the beginning openings will spoil the live action for you.

sure it's corny seeing it all in live action but once you embrace the cringe it's fine imo

Axe

buggy bounty is 15 million

Josh

They specifically tailored the live action of One Piece to appeal not just to casual OP anime fans but to fresh new viewers as well! You guys are gonna love it 🔥 also don’t feel pressured to watch any openings or whatever if you feel obliged to know who’s who. Netflix killed it with the story telling for this live action so it should play out well.

diavolo

The live action is kind of cheesy but it’s still a fun watch, I hope you guys enjoy it!!

Nolan L Thomas

Sam saying the actors of Luffy and Zoro need to step their games up😂😆.

DragLogia5

One Piece is one of my favorite anime/manga of all time. So happy to see you guys react to OP. It going to be amazing

Mikael Lima

Answering Sam: they are all on the East Blue atm.

Arms of Albert

you should entertain the idea of watching one pace

Timothy Ahn

New sub here, loved your guys reaction to this. Im a big one piece fan, anime only though. And from what ive heard from other people, is that this is an adaptation of the manga, not the anime, and it is not exactly the same, certain parts/characters are left out. But i thoroughly enjoyed this series of the live action. Also need to keep in mind that Oda himself handpicked these actors, and from my perspective, they have done a phenomenal job. Every actor for every character in the season portrays that character perfectly

Although not perfectly still has changes it's not following the anime. It's following the manga. Don't forget the anime itself also changed stuff from the manga itself. Aside from that idk what you're on about with the acting. The cast literally embody the characters

idk about perfectly. zoro feels a lil too emo at times. he alot more goofier (unintentionally) and also the fact that he was able to locate his swords from Helmeppo was like the most unrealistic part of the show LOLOL. All jokes aside, this adaptation was still great. Def alot better than other live action. You can tell they put the effort/time to build the set, choose the cast and bring the world to life. The fact Zoro doesnt say his attack names makes it funnier and more realistic. And makes Luffy look more nerdy lol. Overall, a great series. A few weird moments here and there but Id say this was a great success of an adaptation

Honestly that is true abiut zoro, but idk if im remembering correctly, but he does kind of like that in the beginning of the anime when luffy first sees him. But on the other side, you do see the actor smiling/laughing a lot more in the season. Other than that, besides that, i do agree, that this was probably the best adaptation ever in the history of adaptations.

Mojira
>>117248538

Just to correct. No this isn't an accurate adaption of the manga at all. Oda didn't do all the things people claim to say he did (Meaning Oda did not hand-pick these characters). You can literally go scene by scene and highlight major changes they made. 99% of it is being worsened.

Danny
>>117248538

@Mojira If you want to compare it 1-to-1 to the anime, sure its not the same and they changed quite a bit. However, the overall story isnt changed. If you keep thinking of it as an anime comparison, you will be disappointed. And idk if Oda picked everyone but he definitely picked the Luffy actor. Theres a literal interview of Oda meeting the actor and saying that when he saw his audition, he knew he was the one to play Luffy. Dont get caught up in the small details. Even when LN/manga are adapted to anime, stuff are left out and sometimes they change up things in order to fit the important bits in. It happens. Overall, this is a much better adaptation than most shows. Like I said above, not perfect. I still believe that live adaptation of animes are not necessary and are most likely to fail. But I enjoyed this live action and believe they made it a diff version of one piece that still retained the same characters/world we had in the anime

Mojira
>>117248538

It has changed, and whoever says otherwise has no idea. Sorry to burst your bubble, but fundamentally it's different. Oda did not pick, he just gave guidance. Also, there is this insane notion that Oda was supporting/controlling this step by step, but show writers have made it clear that they were constantly trying to change shit and persuade Oda to agree. It's not Oda's job to pick, write script, etc. (Also, i agree it's decent adaptation COMPARATIVELY, but the bar is set very low).

This is why people don’t watch one piece, instead of entertaining the idea of “one piece is too long” instead say, “don’t let the 1000 episodes Intimidate you, think of it as each saga is its own anime with its own plot and story that adds snippets to the overall story of one piece, think of it as an adventure not something you have to do. You should watch it in your pace and enjoy the journey” this is how one piece is supposed to be portrayed by us fans. I’m not saying it isn’t long, but as a one piece fan to another. It’s not enough, we want another thousand episodes.

The acting isn’t that bad, not perfect but it’s not to the point where it turns me off
