One nice thing about this show, is that it can be terribly depressing and fucked up at times, but it does have happy and triumphant moments for the characters. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel, and it makes the happy moments feel that much more sweet, knowing all the terrible hardships they have to overcome.

If you guys have seen Spirited Away, Betelgeuse looked very similar to a certain character there who was hungry for frogs.

"What could possibly go wrong next season". ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Oh good, a happy ending. I'm sure they'll all live happily ever after now

You might find it interesting that some things Subaru said to Emilia this ep are similar to what Rem said to him in the ep where he asked her to runaway with him. Like the line "if you name ten things you hate about yourself, I'll say two thousand things I love about you".

Also, I'm glad you're watching the OVAs (I think both of them). The second OVA is important for season 2.

The thing Subaru wrote in the gospel wasn't a spell, simply just "The End." Basically saying to him, "Your story is over."

Brian Mendez

Sucks like we don't the version where the who's Rem at the end happens lol

Some of the things Subaru says to Emilia and are things that Rem said to him..I really dont like Subaru 😒 used the words of the woman that loves him to confess his feelings to the one he rejected the other one for.

Regarding to what sam said, “This isnt the one I want to kill.” I highly doubt the witch wants to kill Subaru. She could have killed him already by now if she wanted to because she can easily do that.

It is douchey on paper lol but it’s supposed to be full circle healing that Subarus kindness initiated. Subarus words at Rems lowest point let her help him at his lowest and let him help Emilia at hers and the szn 2 characters etc etc

SlickVic !

You shouldve watched the other version of this episode. Theres a ending scene you need to watch!!!

The director's cut version has a scene that is exactly the start of season 2 episode 1. They'd be spoiling themselves watching that.

What does it matter as he means the words. Being petty about this who he picks is cheap and if really Rem fan insulting Subaru is the same as insulting Rem. He healed Rem, Rem healed him and now he wants to heal Emilia.

No they didn't this is the actual ending for season 1 for anime viewers. Honestly this is the best way to end season 1. Director's Cut ending is just a teaser, spoiler almost how season 2 will start.

It’s just an example of what you want to hear in that moment is what your go to would be in trying to make another person feel the same way you felt when they needed it. Notice that Emilia doesn’t just accept it and admit love for him. She’s just surprised there is someone that feels that way about her. The same way Subaru felt when Rem said those things to him. Only difference for now is Subaru fell in love with Rem very quickly after that moment where as Emilia who doesn’t quite understand love like Subaru does will take a lot more time to even think of getting to that point. Saying that he took rems words that he rejected and used them to get Emilias love is wrong. He didn’t reject rems feelings or words, he literally loves her because of what she did for him there. That’s why he uses the same type of analogies. He felt accepted by those words and wanted Emilia to feel the same way even if it didn’t mean either of them would get an “I love you too” right after them.

Season 1 in the wraps, will be funny how confused you guys will be on season 2, onwards to Subaru suffering through it all for love :D

Fortunately, they already watched up to S2 Ep 5, so we're in the clear this time. Even still, the OP's comment was *not* okay. I'm guessing Brian meant no harm, but we need to be careful. These are meant to be blind reactions. Please avoid posting future spoilers.

Subaru didn’t use a spell per se he used the fire spirit Julius gave to him you can see Julius sending it over to Subaru while they’re saying goodbye to each other in the village. He just wrote the end in the book whenever that actually did something or the sleeve got stuck in the wheel at the moment by coincidence is up to your own imagination
