Ruben

I've never seen the OVA before so I was not expecting a straight up Konosuba reference. That's awesome

Ruben

Roswall looking at Ram when discussing releasing magic was because he's frequently replenishing her mana for her since she no longer has her horn. We see this briefly earlier on when she's sitting in his lap and he pokes her on the forehead

Next one will be the main reason you guys were told to watch OVA, but this had lot of references to future stuff and other things. So many hidden clues that you understand after seen season 2 =)

The last scene with Puck and Emilia is mistranslated. It’s supposed to say “the wound where the Mabeast bit him”. He’s just basically saying that Subaru is putting himself in harm’s way to help her, it just has very confusing wording. It shows part of what is going through her head during the Royal Selection where they have their argument.

Aleister Crowley

Hijikata from Gintama would've loved that mayo pool.

Yeah, he's pooring his mana into her forehead.

@29:26 (YouTube video) - Chronologically speaking, this OVA does take place during the events of Season 1, but I don't think you watched things in the wrong order. The OVAs came out during the gap between S1 and S2, so I think the expectation was that most people have already seen the first season. Although you *could* watch OVA 1 after finishing Episode 11, it seems like most people wait (and I think they're correct for doing so).

What was the Konosuba reference? 😂 its been so long since ive watched Konosuba that I dont think I noticed

Anthony

I really can’t wait for them to start season 2!

At 13:57 it references when kazuma and the gang fight the winter shogun

@PyroPhoenix it's that episode where they go hunting those snow spirits (blue balls) and they kill them too many and Winter Shogun comes to kill them and Kazuma gets his head chopped off.

Personally think this is good episode to see before going to the tough arc that happens next. As Subaru just survived the mabeasts and instantly all the shit happens to him in the city, so having this chill moment is good to see before moving on. Although in the end it really doesn't matter that much. This is amazing to see after season 2 too as you understand Roswaal & Betty much better in this OVA.

Well they are at episode 5 already. Just drop slowly episodes with their schedule =)
