Howdy folks. This is a general post that people can reply to with video ideas. Got a particular topic/video/book you'd like me to take a look at? Or any other suggestions for the channel? Please let me know below!

Thanks, Shaun

Comments

Daniel Fitterman

I'd be interested in seeing a video on the recent history of white terrorism. Also, where did the bad rats stream video go? Did I hallucinate its existence?

Captain Woodlouse

I think the BBC bias idea is actually a potentially interesting topic.

The Cube of Orbus

In the vein of your Trayvon Martin video I would love a fully researched discussion on the Brett Kavanaugh appointment. The coverage was so confusing at the time I am still spinning because of it. Also another personal update video that discusses how your view of the alt right has changed since you started this channel might be neat. Keep up the awesome work.

Sascha Erni

It might not play nice on your blood pressure, but considering your tweets about the LibDems as, paraphrased, quasi-Tories, an analysis might be in order. And probably a lot of booze.

Bikes, Books & Buildings

The book ‘Eterminate All The Brutes’ by Sven Lindqvist is a book I’ve thought about for a long time would be interesting to you, Shaun. As well as other breadtubers. It’s about the European tradition of genocide and oppression. It’s such a wonderfully written book, about a horrible subject. He’s almost scary to read, because I fear that my life will be changed with every one of his books.

Anonymous

i don't even remember what it was gonna be about but you did mention a K-ON! video at some point. could be fun

Anonymous

I'd be interested in one on "Gun Control in the US".

Albert Jensen

An alternative hypothesis debunking would be amazing.

em

Everything wrong with cinemasins pt 48

Missy Diabolical

I second the Lib Dem idea; as someone who voted for them once upon a time (oh you sweet summer child). I mean at the time I was so disillusioned by Blair's Labour that they seemed a viable alternative, but good christ look at how that worked out, and it feels like they've only gotten worse since then.

John Meyerin

One on the North Syria Democratic Federation, what the news usually shorthands as the kurds, would be pretty. Cool. I haven't anyone but Robert Evan's talk in depth about how they were doing Marxism and anarchism.

Andrew K

Something on contemporary britain’s relationship with its colonial past

Jasmine Henry

I would like to see more of your history of privitization in the UK ( or the U.S) maybe something focusing on the effects of Margaret Thatcher?

Anonymous

Hi Shaun, I would like to know your opinion on the equality of outcome and expand on the future of feminism a little bit. Will there ever be a true equality in a patriarchal society? Do you support forced equality of outcome like what happens in Canada? Is it true that the disparity in men and women’s roles in society is due to their intrinsic personalities? Or are they programmed socially to pursue different behaviours? Jordan Peterson references Scandinavian gender studies as an argument to debunk the “myth” of equal outcome. The more I listen to him, the more I feel we are being diverted away from the core of the problem.

Jasmine Henry

Or if you want something completely different an analysis of the Naruto series would be fun as well . . .

Becka Swampyre McCobb

Maybe the NHS vs American healthcare, since the UK is maybe about to make a bit of a mess

minohoonoo

Bit of a heavy topic, but the Canadian genocide of indigenous women and girls. It's a really blatant example of ongoing imperialism even in a nation hailed as progressive. Also, since it's mainly perpetrated by the RCMP, it can be a good jumping off point for talking about why ACAB and communities should police themselves.

Jesse Berg

I'd love to see you do some more on the "respectable" side of Nazism, like you did with the Pioneer Fund in your last video. SPLC has done some good work there, that might get you started. Or... if you're exhausted after the Bell Curve, you could always take a video to wail on Sargon for a bit, that's fun and easy.

Anonymous

This may be a bit to niche a subject, but id love to see a deep dive into the Federalist Society, and how it's ajust a judicial activism organization intentionally destroying American courts.

2026-09-14 08:00 Prager U Response videos (now that Denis Prager knows who you are, I'd love for him to see more of your work) Isn't it about time for a Q&A? Loved your railway video, you could do another "failures of privatization" video (internet, healthcare, the post). Any video games you want to review or other manufactured outrage? Also definitely throwing a vote in for BBC bias.

I think it'd be cool to see you do another video similar to your "how privatization fails". Maybe you look at another private market that failed or another aspect of capitalism that's inherently flawed or something

Clementine Danger

I would LOVE to see more videos about the very scary growing Disney monopoly on entertainment. Maybe you can help me figure out why so many of the comrades appear to have such a soft spot for this fairly evil corporation, because I've got nothing. I'm mentioning Disney specifically because while all profit-driven entertainment monopolies are scary, and yes all of our faves are problematic, I'm a bit baffled at the collective left-wing pass Disney seems to get. Almost all leftists and assorted pinkos I know and/or follow are very much in the "yes they're undeniably evil buuuuuuut" camp, they still seem to expect good and artful things from this corporation and it kind of baffles me. I just don't know how they get away with it. (And then there's the more general military influence in Hollywood, almost complete lack of minority influence, centrist bullshit like "choose a side everyone is valid!" stance on Star Wars, the works, but I think Disney is a great nexus for all of it.) Also, a deep dive into video game "crunch culture", union busting and the human cost of our beloved games would be amazing.

Steff

I feel there's a lot to be said about the ideas of national identity and the creation of grand national narratives with regards to policies such as Poland's Holocaust law and the UK's Brexit. As an American, I remain somewhat flummoxed by the popularity of Brexit, and more and more it's appeal is one linked to some mytho-historical identity rather than any economic reality. It's not a subject I've seen discussed much.

Tanahamondo

More PragerU stuff. I see their videos everywhere and I hate it.

Anonymous

"How Privatization fails" but for healthcare, since that's probably about to be a hot topic.

Daniel S Cicala

A reaction to the Minnesota Twins Family Study, obviously 😝

Wolfgang Wentzell

Anything on the BS the BBC has been pulling recently.

Adam Rice

You should do a deep dive on illegal immigration and changing demographics in the United States.

You've done so much work maybe a nice little Q&A

Corran MacCorran

Discussing how mental institutions are used today compared to in the past. In America trump wants to bring more mental institutions into service and start an agency to track data of people with mental disorders in response to gun violence.

Jacob K

seconding Naruto lore analysis

Dave Dorricott

I voted lib dems in 2010, couldn't vote Labour after Blair and needed to be a voice against the bnp as they were rising at the time. Got stung on that one cos I lost my job due to the Tories coming.

Dave Dorricott

I have no idea to add so I've just liked all the comments that I like the sound of.

Lucy (sprints)

An analysis of the Xena: Warrior Princess timeline in relation to 'real' historical events/people/mythology

Daniel S Cicala

Yeah, Shaun had talked about that being something he might focus on in a multi-part series, but only did one on the railways. I thought that had promise and liked the one video that came out of it.

I know this is going to sound kind of like a "duh" comment but I've just finished watching Jose's 70 minute long video on Home Improvement. I've seen the sitcom before in the past, mostly just because I had nothing else to watch, and I certainly wouldn't consider myself a big fan. Not that it was a bad show, just not interested. But Jose's video was fascinating. If you asked me "want to see a 70 minute video analyzing Home Improvement" I'd probably say no. But I liked his content in the past, so I figured I'd watch a few minutes to see if it tickled my fancy. And it did. Saw the entire thing in one sitting. So, my suggestion for you is to just pick something you're passionate about. An interesting video made with passion will capture my attention over a video made to order.

Reicha7

I remember you mentioned you were working on a Capitalism and Video Games video in a stream a while ago so would love to have something along those lines (or another fake videogame outrage video if something comes up that fits)

AkselA

People have mentioned the NHS/US health insurance market. I think that could work as a good case study for "how privatization fails".

Zachery Gregg

Yeah I thing healthcare in general and it's relation to capitalism would be really great

Cowrara

Do one on how you feel about comedy; if you want to make it political, rebut "The right is getting better at comedy "

Jenlifer Fronester

I have loved everything that you have done and your instincts seem to be good so, honestly, unless you feel like you need ideas from elsewhere, I utterly trust you to make quality content on literally whatever tickles your fancy. It also sounds like politics gets difficult and painful sometimes, so if you would like to diversify and do some non-political stuff like HBomb does sometimes then that would be cool, since I'm sure that you have interesting thoughts on lots of things. That being said, if you want to stick to politics, I love that too.

Temascos

Love the stuff you make bud! Ideally you keep on keeping on! However if you are looking for ideas did you ever get the chance to read Postcapitalism by Paul Mason? And if so what did you think of it?

aismallard

Agreed, there's something to be said about how healthcare isn't like the "regular" transactions people make like when PragerU had their silly flower shop example. If you need liver surgery and the hospital is charging too much, you can't just walk away like if a pizza store charges too much for a slice.

Zazabelle

Feels like it's been a while since you've gotten to talk about Rome!

Peter Nash

If I may, I really like the idea of you covering the Roman emperor Elagabalus. I know you're pretty learned on Roman history as well! It would be an awesome way to explore the history of gender and sexuality.

aismallard

Q is definitely entertaining, but I feel like the effort/audience is better spent on more pertinent and less obviously crazy alt-right stuff. It's pretty easy for The_Donald and the like to condemn Q in an attempt to make themselves look more moderate.

Alec Foy

@aismallard yeah I agree. It's just so funny.

Nopey

Some ideas 1. The Failure of the communist/socialist states of the 20th century 2. More 'Why Privatisation Fails' videos (Thinking Electric Networks, Post Office, Communications) 3. I've always wanted a leftist to analyse the work of Nassim Taleb. His philosophy is so close to anarco-socialism, yet he identifies as a Libertarian (who believes that local government should be socialist, by I guess magic?) and supported Trump (Endorsed Tulsi Gabberd in 2020 i believe). Anyway hope these ideas are useful. Best of luck

Zachery Gregg

Yeah exactly. It's not a real business. That becomes even more apparent when you look at preexisting conditions.

2026-09-14 08:00 Personally, I'm curious about how WInston Churchill is viewed. I know I thought he was a hero, but my Iranian dad would spit his name & I think FDR viewed him as an unapologetic imperialist. When I ask my british friends what they think of him they say they don't really. So I guess - Winston Churchill's legacy.

How privatisation fails: Everything- discussing Pinochet and the Chicago boys (and maybe sneak the history of developmentalism in there). Something about how government debt/deficits actually work, sort of a counter to the myth that you have to run a country like a buisness or household, and that "your taxes" pay for anything at all. (what will then be) A post mortem of this sodding election and the ways status quo bias turn into open propagandising. That "best of leftie youtube" showcase you're always going on about! Something on the outer wilds? you really liked that game and goodness knows you deserve a damn break by now! Likewise for red dead 2? you really hated that game and theres nothing more fun sometimes than tearing into something. {joking request for more cinemasins} Honestly had trouble here, there's tons i would like you to go for, and i really want another "how privatization fails", but every time you nail a big one like this it feels like you go up tier and your detractors seem even less worth a kicking next to the new and odious ones suddenly aware of you. So have a victory lap or something, 45 minutes about how mei is great that mention hong kong, but not overwatch, idfk

Tanner

I’m too lazy to scroll to see if it’s been suggested but I have seen so much misinformation lately about land reform in South Africa by people who probably don’t even know about apartheid. That may be an interesting topic

Phoenixfh

In general I like it if it's more educational and less about pointing out the flaws of bad statements. (both is important though)

icarus

I second the commenter who mentioned South Africa. Might also be interesting to explore the propaganda model ala Herman and Chomsky and contemporary examples of putative misinformation in the MSM like coverage of Bolivia, Bernie Sanders, antisemitism in British politics/criticism of Jeremy Corbyn in general, etc.

S. R.

I'd like to see a video that explains why people rag on Steven Pinker because I heard a lot about him as a linguistics student and enjoyed his book the language instinct but he seems disliked by leftists and I feel out of the loop on it

RubbishBinMan

there probably isn't enough time to get this out before the election, but the accusations of antisemitism against jeremy corbyn could be a good one to have a look at

Pavel A

Pinker, besides now being associated with Epstein, is also a kind of Panglossian technocrat. i.e. he believes that things are slowly improving (by pointing at some line graphs) and that generally we don't need to do anything to change society... and things will just keep improving!

S. R.

Ohhh that makes sense... Thank you for explaining!

Matt Wallis

How currently Fox News and the Republican party in the US gaslight and twist everything

bored

i think a 2019 catchup would be good. nice and light hearted after your behemoth of a video on the bell curve. something a bit more casual maybe. just your general thoughts on the future and what your plans are and how you are doing. something that doesnt make too much stress to make

Dragon Cobolt

I like all the ideas everyone else has posted. They're all topical and fascinating and important. That's why I'm voting for another Cinima Sins video!

BBC bias in election coverage (guess others may have already covered it?)

PotentPinion

fuck it, something about nuclear power

Rex Appleby

i'd like an analysis of Isaac Butterfields videos.

Ana Sanguine

I would like to see a few things form you, of course only if you are interested in them yourself. -it would be nice to have someone talk about China and their concentration camps they have set up -I would love to see a video on what rights women lost in USA after Trump got elected, in detail like usual, bc it has been very perfidious and easy for people to deny -if you want to criticize books, I would happily watch a video about your opinion on the witcher series, or something that people like that you think is overhyped -Your take on the Balkans situation, or a history lesson, or anything about it

Jae Armstrong

Yeah, this. The absolute state of this fucking election has been something to behold and I'm going to need someone to pull it apart and label the pieces just to process it I think.

Missy Diabolical

I've suggested these on HBomberguys ideas page but I think you would do a brilliant analysis also (I love all my leftists equally, comrades): 1. Queerbaiting, ugh. It is so pervasive now- Riverdale, Supernatural (which I actually love but will sadly admit is rife with it) Sherlock etc. An analysis of why it's used and how it is damaging. 2. PewDiePie is a racist.

R.E. Jasso

Try debunking one of the videos made by Razorfist.

IrkinInvaderZak

I would like to second the idea to do a video on queerbaiting: this is something I have really struggled to explain to straight allies and often gets misunderstood as an argument, such as, 'oh, you're saying men can't be close friends with other men without it being gay, you're supporting the terrible idea that men can't be close with other men without being afraid everyone is going to call them homophobic names, that's really damaging to men who are already scared to be vulnerable and intimate with anyone, why do you hate men and friendship?'

Laura Jula

-sports and gender* -Decoloniality -Erasure of Women and Queer people from history

Monstromax

As a continuation of your video on privatisation, I would like to get your thoughts on The Right's framing of de-regulation, union-busting and other types of privatisation as a matter of individual freedom. In other words, how policies that benefit the rich and powerful while effectively taking away from the public are made to seem like they are "giving us freedom to choose."

ibi

Not honestly sure if a video can be made out of this but like, Ricky Gervais style comedians who punch down? Could be a fun short one in between the big important ones

The Bell Curve but its about actual bell acoustics Actually though How Privatisation Fails pt 2

George Soros

a while back you considered doing a vid on how capitalism is ruining gaming i think we'd all like to see you go through with that

George Soros

actually, i just got into an argument over whether jeremy's an antisemite and realized how helpful it would be if you did a thorough refutation of the claim even though he resigned, showing how he was the victim of a disinformation campaign would help with future elections

BatStick

Fear and it's relationship to politics?

Corran MacCorran

I don't suppose you'd want to make a video on doing research and digging up things?

Corran MacCorran

I meant how to do research and find proper sources. Sorry I was having a bad brain day and cognitive function wasn't optimal. You always have excellent materials for your videos and I'd like to know how you find them outside of putting a call out on twitter.

Ken Arroyo Ohori

How press freedom is weaponised by the right. Very timely and nice examples in Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Hungary, etc.

Sydnee Galusha

Collective bargaining agreements and responses to common anti union refrains (like, you might make less money if you unionize. A contract will make it so no one can be fired)

Andrew Cross

not a suggestion, but in the bell curve video comments (i know, i know) there's a guy reposting some kiwi farms shit, saying it's your dox and all that, just a heads up

Andrew Cross

like it's most likely not you, frankly it doesn't matter, i just watch your videos and give you patreon $$, but some psycho is probably going to use that information either against you or an unsuspecting random dude

Andrew Cross

no probs, thanks for the response and action!

2026-09-14 08:00 It's a little outside your normal area, but I'd love to see you discuss Tim Ferriss, author of The Four Hour Workweek and a few other similarly-titled books. I can't remember ever seeing an analysis of him or his whole self-made man schtick, and I think it'd be very intersting. By all accounts he seems like a pretty friendly guy, but the mythos he's created about himself really seems to speak to a particular breed of shitty tech bro. I dunno, seems like it could be interesting. <3

Sakuraba216

A definitive take down of Ben Shapiro and all of his nonsensical arguments

Leon Tilley

Hello Shaun as a massive request about the game Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the Middle Ages and people of colour, I have found some things out and last year I did some travelling to do some fact checking that was awesome. I would love to talk to you about what I found out...

Daniel S Cicala

With the primaries going on I've been binge drinking on the political sciences, and I've been thinking this is the sort of stuff I don't see enough of on LeftTube. "Electability", mainstream punditry, how we view demographic behavior, a big picture view of how Overton's Window has shifted and can shift in the future, more in-depth dives into the nitty gritty of HOW money affects politics, etc.I know you expressed an interest in moving away from response videos and With the primaries going on I've been binge drinking on the political sciences, and I've been thinking this is the sort of stuff I don't see enough of on the big LeftTube channels. British and American politics mirror each other so much that I don't think it matters which country you draw the more specific examples from, it will all have broad appeal.

Walkersward (Adam)

Hey Shaun, you should tear apart Dominic Cummings' blog

Ben Fischer

Hey Shaun, new Patreon subscriber here, long-time Youtube subscriber. I could listen to you talk for hours, no joke. It's like leftist ASMR. I've been getting TONS of ads for The Epoch Times, which sets off all sorts of skepticism alerts for obvious reasons. I wonder if you'd want to do an analysis of them, especially given that they are obviously ramping up advertising. What do you think they are currently trying to accomplish?

garlic bread

Hey Shaun! Long time lurker and short time patreon here. I really enjoy listening to you dissect reactionary rhetoric - your patient and polite way of talking is truly humbling, wholesome and gives me great hope for the future of the left. Could you see yourself making a different type of video though, on how to actively talk to people about leftist topics? I feel like I have a big problem with getting frustrated/angry/emotional quickly when people bring up the same fallacies over and over ("human nature", venezuela, stalin, etc) whenever I try to make even the slightest criticism of capitalism. I'd highly appreciate your Input on this. Thanks for all you do - you truly make this world a better place. At least in my opinion. :)

garlic bread

Some other inputs: "Communist" countries in the modern era (China, Russia), Socialist countries (Cuba, Vietnam, Venezuela?) and criticisms of them

Anonymous

An eventual sequel to your epic Bell Curve video I'd love to see is a longform rebuttal to Douglas Murray's The Strange Death of Europe (which would also be a sequel to your White Replacement video).

Ben Fischer

How much do I have to pay you to make a video about Scott Pressler D;

Potted Rodent

Hi Shaun, I love your videos. I had to subscribe after Chomsky-loving Vaush tried to scold you because you spoke out against Biden, and you were absolutely correct!

Anonymous

I have another longform book rebuttal suggestion, perhaps do one of Thomas Sowell's works like The Economics and Politics of Race (1983), Ethnic America (1981) and/or Affirmative Action Around the World (2004), which try to blame vulnerable minorities for their own poor conditions.

Anonymous
>>38749693

I just came here to ask for the same thing. :) I see Sowell routinely brought up as “the Right’s one reasonable commentator who actually makes sense! Btw, I’m totally a non-racist leftist.”

Anonymous
>>38749693

I’ve looked for a more comprehensive take-down of Sowell, but all I’ve found are pieces that seem incomplete (op-ed reviews of some Sowell book that make one solid point and then trail off with “I could go on...”), or badly written.

Anonymous
>>38749693

Gah. How do you write paragraphs? Anyway, I know Sowell is a climate change denier (“Would you bet your paycheck on the weather report for tomorrow? Then why bet our GDP on global warming?”), compared Obama supporters to Hitler supporters, thought Trump was unfit for office (but the lesser of two evils), now thinks Trump has been a better President than Obama. I saw panel show from the 80s where he blames “black ghetto culture” for the sole cause of Black inequality. He’s a proponent of the “gender wage gap is a myth.” This seems reason enough to dismiss him outright. The reviews paint a picture similar to Jordan Peterson — obviously bright man who has a way of sounding intelligent with complex arguments that boil down to tired conservative talking points, using cherry-picked data (he seems to rarely go over 2 data points) to give the sense that he’s done his homework. But I’d like to see a more comprehensive and competent take-down done so I don’t have to waste time reading any of his 40 books, much less several of them.
