The first page is everything; it must captivate, inspire, and immediately immerse you in the story ❤️

Here's my workflow, step by step:

Sketch - I quickly and easily draw the frames and outlines of the characters and the room.

Definitive Sketch - Perspective studies, one of my favorite parts! I use Sketchbook Pro, my main drawing software, and take advantage of its Central and Fisheye Perspective tools, which are super helpful for building the base of the scene. From there, I start adding details to both the environment and the characters.

Lineart - Once I'm satisfied with the sketch, I move on to defining the lineart. I clean up the shapes and strengthen the expressions and details.

Flat Coloring - I lay down the base colors using a predefined palette created specifically for the entire comic.

Shadows and Highlights - I add depth and atmosphere with light and shadow, and this is where the page really comes to life!If you have any questions about any of the steps, I'd be happy to answer them!<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
