🔄 Changes and narrative transition

This page is where the changes made in the last two become most visible (I’ll prepare a separate post to show them in detail). The characters here needed a short break and a change of position, making the transition to the next page clearer.

✏️ Drafting and directing

During the draft stage I use blue and red pencils to easily distinguish elements and characters. They don’t have a fixed assignment: sometimes the dog is blue and the wolf red, other times the opposite. Sometimes it may happen that the script does not describe a pre-imagined point of view: in these cases I create different poses and angles to find the best solution to make the scene more dynamic and interesting.I almost always try to respect some basic directing rules, such as the 180° rule: an imaginary line that guides the camera’s movement around the characters, keeping them in the same order on the page. For example, the wolf is always on the left. This helps the reader avoid confusion and makes the flow smoother. Of course, the rule can be broken: in that case it’s called “across the line,” mainly used to create disorientation or to allow a change of perspective on the characters.

🖊️ Inking and coloring

Once the draft was complete, I refined and inked it with only minor adjustments. Then I moved on to flat coloring and finally added shadows and highlights — my favorite part — which give the characters more depth and create a warm, engaging atmosphere. If you have any questions about any of the steps, I'd be happy to answer them!

Sindosan

I think this slight changes of positions, or breakdowns you add to the action helps a lot, and its true when you say the script doesn't reflect what we have in mind. That's a good point, and even for a work like this, is quite difficult to translate in images all the erotism o sensuality we want to reflect, but you are doing it pretty well. The rule of camera movement i remember always when i see a movie, and of course this jumping the edge helps a lot to give a more immersive experience for the reader! And of course, i always love how Belfort is becoming more engage in the action, and a little bit dominant, but in a tender, sweet way. Thank you very much for share this steps to us!
