This stage concept was developed to define the spatial dynamics of the character’s movement and to establish the lighting logic and overall atmosphere. Even though the set won’t be fully visible in the final animation, I wanted it to feel coherent and intentional—especially the screen behind him, marked with claw scratches, which adds a raw, playful accent to the scene.

Lighting-wise, I initially explored a dual setup: warm and cold tones to model the character’s volume and mood contrast. I did consider using decorative ball lights (they looked adorable in the early sketches), but I eventually opted for standard spotlights. They’re more manageable in traditional animation workflows and still allow me to control the rhythm and focus of the scene without overcomplicating the process.

This is eventually going to be an animation right? I think I like that lighting and you Always have the lights going all over the place and that one solitary white light that blinds you for a moment.. that would go well xD

You have gave a very intersting candy! looks a nice base, because mostly we need always to have a complete reference to work properly, even if the spectator only gets hints in the final shots. So it´s a clever step and hope to see it soon alive!!

Yep! It will be a traditional 2D animation. You won't see the spotlight scaffolding, it would be too complex a structure to animate, but you will see the light sources.
