Hey, everyone! A while back the Longwinded One, who is an author and podcaster in the LitRPG arena, asked me to participate in a short story anthology which he hopes will raise some money to help support up and coming authors - a scholarship fund at future LitRPG Cons. I don't really know how all that will work, so don't ask me. I just write stories! :)

Anyway, the book will release on November 1st, with an audio book to follow shortly. You can preorder here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HL9M6QZC

Here's some cover art:

Also, since you're my top supporters, how about a peak at the (unedited) draft of my contribution? I'll attach it here. It's called "Just Logan" and its kind of a cyberpunk-themed story about an old ex-soldier deciding to do what's right.

Enjoy!

no comments after two days? I'm shook. the story is great! I thought that the depiction of a relatively benevolent empire in a cyber punk setting was really cool, a bit of emotional refuge from the inherent soul crushing nature of cyberpunk society (and, let's be honest, real life lol). It was also conspicuous to me that the default choices were made as far as character gender: old man gets the job done that the woman can't, saves the little girl. It didn't really take away from the story for me but it did feel like a bit unnecessarily standard for a story taking place in a setting that is so intertwined with trans/posthumanism. It struck me particularly with Jinny. This isn't even a criticism, really just an observation. Make of it what you will. I really liked the ending, obviously. it's sad that Logan couldn't live to see the results of his final stand, but we even get a bit of consolation on that front due to his renegade AI escaping a similar fate! TFTS!
