In this design tutorial, we will create wood burn effect step-by-step 😊

This tutorial comes with 2 files only. A wood background image and a flower silhouette that we will use. No brushset or color palette needed this time. 😉

You can download them right here

We will create the design above. But if you like, you can use different patterns than I did and create something like these:

You can download wood background images for free on websites such as unsplash.com  or

pexels.com

Also, I shared a similar cut paper design tutorial on YT some time ago. If you haven't seen it, you can check it out here

Hope you'll enjoy this creative tutorial. If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments section below.

This effect is absolutely stunning! First thing on my list for tomorrow! Ironing will wait :)

Outstanding! This wood burn effect looks as good as the real thing… and no risk of burned fingers either :-) This is my project for today - I was going to try pointillism but that can wait - along with Martine’s ironing LOL. Thanks for another inspiring tutorial, Tatiana.

Tamara Kay

Thanks for video. Relaxing and easy - maybe once I try a few times. Lol

Really enjoyed this! To me, it looked like a combination of wood carving and wood burning - especially since I made the letters “is intelligence having” darker rather than lighter. Thanks again!

Yes!! Finally able to sit and enjoy this tutorial! Thank you so much! I found it challenging enough to drive me to do and redo the steps until it was perfect! I’d like to try different designs next time I tackle this one, and honestly the options are endless with this tutorial! Thank you Taty!

This is fun! I can't seem to get the feather selection working correctly though. I created a new layer, selected the middle stamp layer as Reference, went back to the new layer and hit Selection, but when I choose Feather nothing happens. Any tips? 😊
