I have wanted to do a photo manipulation tutorial since a while and so happy to share it now! 😊

In this video, we will use a cute 🐱 image,  combine it with a couple more photos to create a cool 'cat dream' effect step-by-step.

We will use quite a few Procreate tools and features such as bloom, selection, gradient map, color adjustments, curves, and more along the process.

So this may be a good one to learn about Procreate features and master them.

Before we begin,

You can download all files we will use via this link, or this alternative link

Hope you enjoy it! ❤️

You are amazing! How have you learned so much about PROCREATE?

I loved doing this one. It made me feel empowered as a digital artist to explore more Procreate features and use them. Thank you

I just started working on this, and was trying to watch the video, pause and work in Procreate. What I really need to do is watch the entire video first! But, one thing I seem to run into every now and then is the automatic selection doesn’t work. Even when I tried playing around with the threshold, it didn’t work. I closed Procreate, and restarted it. That didn’t help. Then I shut down my iPad and restarted it. I made sure I had closed down any apps running in the background. I’m not sure what finally got it working. I think I just managed to get the threshold right and then made sure automatic was set to “add.” Have you ever had this problem? PS I finally got the background selected, and then I worked on the edges of the kitten. It looks great!

love this one!!! got in some good smudge practice 😁

I started this one yesterday and had to re-do it today because my selection didn’t select only the outside. It kept selecting parts of the inside of the cat and I couldn’t fix the selection levels of the automatic selection, so I just traced it using freehand selection and deleted the outer edge. Let’s see if this works. It’s important to still have the cat fur intact in the picture when using the glowing shading of the cat. That’s when I noticed I had to re-do what I had done.

I just finished mine this morning, and I love it. It turned out to be my all-time favorite thing I’ve done in Procreate!
