I know I've fallen behind again! I've got two pages inked (not really edited though, as you can see above in the lineart WIP) and I've got two more I'm almost done inking. My brother's partner had their third baby recently and I of course had to be a good aunt and see the little hamburger! (family joke, don't ask)

Welcome, new followers! It's good to see you!

Reboot Print Editions and Kickstarter News

I am starting to plan for the print edition and paid digital release of FaLLEN, as well as smaller merchandise like stickers and the like. I want to get ready for a Kickstarter for Vol. 1 but I am afraid costs to both print and sell would be pretty high if I kept the same 200 page count in color. I was thinking about releasing smaller trades that are only 4-5 chapters long. I went through the original chapters I have finished and the ones that were in the works and I can still have impactful pacing if I release the first volume with 5 chapters and the second, third, and fourth with 4 chapters. That's still over 100 pages per book with some bonus materials at the end. The success of the Kickstarter will probably determine what I sell the books for in print.

How does this sound to everyone? The books would be in a standard US trade paperback (or hardcover, depending on the kickstarter potentially) and full-color. Is 4-5 chapters not enough for you to want to get a copy?

If you were at a convention or comic book store and saw a 4-5 chapter comic book in full color for $12-$15, would you be interested? Is that too much money? Is that not enough content?

Please share your thoughts below! I really really want to get a Kickstarter going by the end of summer so please let me know what you think! (I hope you enjoyed the teaser lineart!)

I think over 100 pages sounds good. I am not a convention person, so not sure about that, but I would pay 15$ + shipping for that. :)

I meant to comment on this AGES ago. I've been in a super unsocial mood these last few months, to say the least. That all sounds great. I would definitely buy those books for $15 if I saw them at a convention, as well as online + shipping. And as a previous kickstarter backer, I'm curious if you'll be including the character cameos that were originally going to be in volume 3 of the manga print?
