Blackbird, Colorist Work (Patreon)

I'm busy getting the FaLLEN website ready for public access this week, so here is something I worked on for a client. I was asked to do some color work for a comic called Blackbird that was originally released in black and white but was getting a color revamp. Here's one page before I got to it. I actually do not know the name of the artist and I don't think they are on the project anymore.

This was originally done on paper, not digitally, so the files I had access to did not have the lineart on separate layers. It was all one file.

Originally I submitted these colors, but I was then asked to do a white out effect. A white out is a weather event where there is so much snow, I think sometimes a blizzard, even, that your vision is impaired. So I changed the art to look like this:

The client liked the effect, so here is the other page I was asked to do, both with just the colors and then the effect.

And now the white out.

I'm a beginner colorist at best, haha, so it's a fun new challenge for me to work with these pages.
